USER REVIEWS

I love this PC
Reviewer : Jayson (Alhambra, CA)
I have always been a gamer, and now I can take full advantage of WOW. Great machine.

beware of alienware
Reviewer : anna kerr (pikeville, KY)
extremely poor customer support. bought computer in apr 6 2006, alienware has had to replace hard drive and the video card twice. I have had to send my laptop back to factory twice. this second time they said they would have to replace motherboard. I have being dealing with alienware for 3 months and I still do not have a working computer. its in a fedex return box at this time. I would never buy another alienware. They took my 3500.00 and still have not given me a working computer. oh they say they are working on it but for that kind of money I defintely should have a working computer in three months.

Alienware sucks!
Reviewer : pat (los gatos, CA)
Overpriced just like a Honda. Customer service, forget it these little kids are just out of high school and don't care about your happiness. Computers run ok if you get a one that works. Buy a Dell and save yourself the pain.

Dont listen to them
Reviewer : i heart alienware (Boston, MA)
dont listen to these crackpots, my alienware works great, havnt had a single problem with it for 3 years, definitaly worth your money, dells cant perform nearly as well as this, even the xps 700 is puny compared to a good alienware- overall good buy

Alienware
Reviewer : Craig Goodson (Odessa, TX)
I love my Alienware. I have never had to use Customer Support because, it works fine. As for Dell, well I could tell you some stories about three different dells I have had. I will buy an Alienware again.

Alienware/Dell
Reviewer : Brian (Smith, CA)
How can you guys argue about which is better? Dell just bought Alienware this year. Read a wallstreet journal every once in awhile....

dell/alienware
Reviewer : jesse (grand rapids, MI)
first dell bought alienware, but that wallstreet journal also says that there going to let it run as a seperate entity, *if it aint broke dont fix it* that said dell sucks, alienware is the prize winner when it comes to high end comps

Area-51 m5750 ATI Radeon x1800 Problems.
Reviewer : Jadin (Indy, ID)
Just got my Area-51 m5750 with the ATI RADEON x1800 Card. Opened it out of the box and got the Blue Screen of Death!. Called support and they didn't know what they were doing. Told me to send it back to the plant. Analyzed the laptop myself and found it to be a defect with the video card. laptop looks great! just wished it worked outside of safe mode. Service...wast of time... A lot of time...(12 hours.) That's what happens when the big companys out source. By the way i heard Dell Bought Alienware.

Fools
Reviewer : Valley Joe (Vallejo, CA)
Alienware and Dell both get great reviews, but nothing's perfect. When will people stop giving poor reviews when they become a 1 outta 500 guy. I go to a local burrito place that serves great burritos. I love them. Yet every once in a while I get one that just isn't that great, sometimes downright awful. That doesn't mean the place sucks, and I still recommened them to this day. I've had great experiences with Dell and bad. I am actually looking forward to buying an Alienware in the next month or so.

The bad service and customer service led me to buy full loaded dell xps . Great price great computer. Save money

Alienware's the best there is
Reviewer : Neil Marrot (Pittsburg, PA)
Hands down Alienware has the most powerful computers. You can't expect their customer service to be great, they're way too backordered and are probably concentrating a huge amount of revenue into new employees to build. Also, Don't complain about customer service, all you people who can't even speak proper English, and if you're all so mad get together and file a class-action law suit. Otherwise move back to your own third world country shitholes.

Alienware SUCKS!!!!!!!!!
Reviewer : Lisa (Avenel, NJ)
Bought a area 51 5550 and burned one cd and lens went. Sent the the CD/DVD ROM back and they sent me one without a faceplate!! BEWARE OF ALIENWARE!!!!!!!!!

My Cumputer Stunk!
Reviewer : Lillie (Rutledge, TN)
I bought my computer, it was shap to look at, then 15 days later, i had to re-install, windows twice, they (Christian) tried to charge me a 15% restocking fee for a dead computer, it was one of the worse buys i have ever made... Still it was Classy. Finally wrote a letter to president, have the adress if u need, he gave me FULL credit for my entire purchase price. When this baby worked it worked good, then when it tore up, there customer support had the manners of PIG, if they were that smart. Now I am shopping for a re-placement, hard to do, once you've had your hands on an Alienware, the others seem so plain! Too bad there Customer Support sux.

Customer support sucks, computer rocks
Reviewer : T. Lamb (Anchorage, AK)
I ordered an Alienware Aurora M9700, they carged me double and never sent my order to me. I was close to canceling my order just because the csa was an idiot. Unfortunately when you call alienware you deal with aliens. Since i have had my pc i have had to deal with tech support 5 times, the problems haver been minor and have been resolved. Be patient when ordering one, if you get a good alienware you will be happy, unfortunately there are lemons out there. message to alienware: (Please stop outsoursing customer service jobs, if you plan on continuing with these kind of practices you continue to ailienate your customers with poor comunication.)

Reviewer : AlienWhere? (Los Angeles, CA)
Tried to do a step by step configuration for a 3K+ laptop w/alienware rep. Very negative experience w/impatient, ignorant, unskilled young cust. serv. punk. Asked for a supervisor but was told by a second rep that the way it works is that "First I must place an order for a computer, then get a certain purchase order #, then you can request to speak to a supervisor if and when available. Incidentally, he said that anyway they were ALL in a meeting at that moment, at the same time. I went thru time consuming configuration w/2nd rep. who promised me to email both configurations of two models for final selection, within 15 minutes, two days later my email is still empty.

LILLI- need an address
Reviewer : Bryan (Mussler, CO)
LILLI---can I get that address of the head prs. that you wrote the letter to. My Aurora came to me broke and they suck at support. Alienware sucks!!!!!Its just components that kick ass!

Alienware doesn't suck
Reviewer : Chris (Chuluota, FL)
You should stop griping about your broken computers. The only reason they have bad customer support is because a lot of nerds don't have any social skills at all. My computer is great, and everyone messes up every once in a while.

Alienware doesnt suck.
Reviewer : Brian (Pensacola, FL)
If you actually paid any attention you would notice where Alienware is located...it's in MIAMI...theyre not outsourcing. These comps are not for casual gamers. If youre a casual gamer build your own comp instead of ordering from Dell...you'll save money. I know an internet cafe owner who has 22 Alienware comps in his shop and not a single one has EVER had a problem in the last year he's had them.

a little disappointed
Reviewer : michelle ortiz (bronx, NY)
I am shopping for a gaming comp and i am choosing between the Dell's 710 level 1 gaming pc or the Area 51 Alienware.. i have made countless telephone calls to both companys to compare prrices and go over different customized specs. however, i am still torn about which pc i want. I am about to spend 3k for a pc and when i ask Dell to email the specs and prices to compare i had the info in my email...When i contact alienware and spoke to someone with an foriegn accent i have not received my quotes as of today. so i am reading everyone oppinions and i am steering to Dell because of the customer serv. One other, thing when i called last week to speak to them they left a message states "sorry cs is having difficulties please try your call later." i found that disturbing. so if anyone have any advice please let me know which one should i choose. I need this comp to play and handle my Sims 2 and all their expansions packs.

alienware and dell?

Dell / Alienware
Reviewer : Dell heart Alienware (dsaf, CA)
Just thought I would let everyone know that I verified that Alienware is wholly owned by Dell, but Alienware runs everything - including customer service. Yes, you get an Alienware CS agent when you call, not someone from Dell. As a side note, I have owned 8 dell laptops and have had no trouble, except for the one that I am typing this review on, which is 4 years old. It has a p4 in it and overheats if you have it on your lap too long. Put it on a table of any sort and it works fine. I could care less about customer service. I just want reliability. I wish more of the people who have had good experiences would speak up. Alienware's prices are pretty competitive these days, and they look bitchin'.

Alienware
Reviewer : Bo (Santa Clara, CA)
For those of you that are interested in buying an Alienware and are getting discouraged because of reviews of bad customer service or bad computers sent to them. Consider all the millions of satisfied customers that don't write a review after getting their computer. Most people don't say anything until something goes wrong. But just to even things out go and review what others have said about their bad experiences with Dell computers and you will find that they have just as many problems with their computers as you see with Alienwares customer service. I look forward to recieving my Alienware computer in the near future.

i do not recomended
Reviewer : Alejandra (greensboro, NC)
poor customer service, bad product, 3 months and have to replaced hard drive, motherboard, 2 times to depot and still not working"policy not money back or replaced" even if they not fix it, they are the worse.i do not recommended, i wish i knew this before i got it

ALIENWARE A CRIMINAL COMPANY
Reviewer : thomaslinj (Sciota, PA)
I purchased an Alienware area 51-M 766 Laptop on 05/12/2004 and I paid three thousand dollars for it. It was advertised as a laptop with an upgradeable video card and it was considered to be the top of the line gaming notebook and had with some fantastic reviews winning numerous awards and gained a great deal of recognition from industry professionals and technology experts. The laptop should last many years and the main idea is the video card could be changed or upgraded. I thought I bought the best notebook on the market, but I was sadly mistaken. After a year and half, I called Alienware so I could purchase a new upgraded video card, and I was told that Alienware stop supporting my laptop and my video card. I was also told that I have to purchase a video card from a third party called “Uniwill” if I wanted an upgrade. So I called the third party company but no one picked up the phone and I left several messages and they never called me back. I was very surprised that I was unable to get an upgradeable video card. I was also very disappointed to find that so soon I was unable to get what was so strongly advertised and promised. If this isn’t false advertising and false promises made to customers then I don’t know what else is but afterwards I gave up calling and continue to use the notebook. I never thought I would have trouble with it but on November 23, 2007 the video card completely burned out. I contacted Alienware shortly afterwards to ask them if I could purchase any type of video card that would simply just work (forget about gaming or upgrading) so I could at least use the notebook. Unfortunately Alienware stop supporting and making any type of video card for my laptop, and I was told to call “Uniwill” once again to purchase a video card and once again I called, left messages and I never received a return call. I wonder if Uniwill is a prefabricated company created and owned by Alienware to prevent lawsuits. I also researched the Internet; eBay and tried to see if someone out there had anything I could possibly use, but all I found was a very long line of Blogs, many hate websites with a massive amount of posted threads of complaints of many unsatisfied and unhappy Alienware customers who where ripped off and lied to by a company filled with false advertisements, promises, and deceit. I purchased a three thousand dollar Alienware paperweight, and now I've joined a long line of unsatisfied customers.

No recommendation
Reviewer : Lazlo Meringez (Berlin, No)
had queries with my machine and their so called support for 1.5 yrs now. Their technical support dont even know about the basics of the products they re selling, and miss basics on comp-technology in general. price politics: the upgrade-prices are just a joke: ram for example: for the upgrade on a laptop from 2 to 4 gb you have to pay 3times the price that you pay when buying this part on each online-shop. no service, overpriced, good for kiddys.

Alienware is worth it!!
Reviewer : Christine (Houston, TX)
I bought an alienware area51 in 2004 and am using it to write this review! This laptop has been awesome! I paid $3600 for it then and will be paying $5800 this month for the m17x only because its time for an upgrade not because anything is wrong with it. I have dealt with customer service with alienware after my dog knocked mine on the floor and while they are frustrating it isnt much different then dealing with the electric company. I can tell you that if for no other reason I would buy another alienware simply because I can upgrade and change parts myself without having to send it in. Try that with Dell! If your warranty is up you won't be talking to customer service anyway! Not without paying more! I have upgraded memory, changed my hard drive and optical drives out myself. No fault of alienware...was the dog!!! BUY ALIENWARE!!!

Thinking of purchasing...
Reviewer : Sam (Murray, NY)
I am currently the user of a Compaq Presario that I had bought for a mere $500-$600 dollars during a major dell giveaway. While it suits most of my needs, it is only capable of handling about two game from the lack of memory and it looks boring. I decided since it is my Senior Year in HS, that I wanted to get a new laptop for college. I tried cyberpowerpc.com, ebay, and then I found Alienware. Not only are the optional specs nad customizing abilities mind boggling, it looks kick ass too. The price was slightly startling when I concluded my options and added it to my cart. $2465.75, not too sure if I should continue with the purchase or not. Anyone have awesome reviews? email me at kavorkian_scarf_wearing_foamy@yahoo.com
