DO NO BUY FROM IDENTITY DIRECT - NO WAY TO CANCEL WEBORDERS Beware of Identity Direct! I suggest anyone who may change their mind regarding an order and wants to cancel an order NOT EVER USE IDENTITY DIRECT! I just place an order with Identity Direct on March 15th which was Sunday. I got an email from my sister-in-law about a special book offer that came to $3 including shipping. I ordered this book but when I go the confirmation email it listed the total price as $15.98 total shipped. I immediately tried to contact them via email and contact number that was provided on the website but of course no one responded because it was Sunday. I look everywhere on the website for a cancellation function - which many if there is a problem, but it was no where to be found. I contacted them today March 17, due to my busy schedule and this is what I find out. 1) The call center can not cancel a web placed order. They can only cancel phone orders. 2) The call center can only cancel orders on the same day that you placed the order. 3) The email I sent went to the warehouse, not the call center. 4) The warehouse, if they can not cancel the order, will do nothing. They won't contact me or their call center that they can not cancel the order so no one is informed. It seems that Identity Direct is like so many companies who have webstores now. They have it setup so that if you have a problem that you have to call their call center. But their call center in this situation of wanting to cancel the order is unable to do anything. You as a customer are up the creek with no recourse. Yeah you can contact your credit card company, but there are issues there too. Because they don't charge you immediately you have to wait till they charge your card to file a investigation into this though the credit card company does see it on their records. YOU ARE WARNED THAT COMPANIES LIKE IDENTITY DIRECT ARE A BAD PLACE TO PURCHASE IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND WANT TO CANCEL YOUR WEBORDER. I will post this everywhere I can to warn people becuase they customer rep's response and their supervisor's is that they can not do anything. They don't even try to fix the problem internally an djust leave it the way it is so anyone else who gets into this same situation is stuck like me... We should have a list of companies who do not let you cancel your orders online after pruchase. We should demand that ALL companies offer cancellatioin of webroders in one shape or form.
