Jewelry & Gemstones
Reviewer : jennifer (austin, TX)
I just purchased a 1.50 ct colombian emerald & a 1.25 diamond semi-mount. The emerald was just appraised by a master gemologist for 6 times what I paid for it & the semi mount appraised for 3times what I paid. I have a $10,000.00 ring I paid $1500.00 for. You cant beat that!

Jewelry Television
Reviewer : Donna W. (Owasso, OK)
I love Jewelry Television! I have purchased hundreds of pieces of jewelry from them. The quality is excellent! And the selection is by far more extensive that any jewelry store has in stock. I did not even know there were gemstones like chrome diopside, kunzite, morganite, prasiolite, and andalusite before I saw Jewelry Television. I have bought rings and received appraisals on them hundreds of dollars higher than I paid. It seems the focus at Jewelry Television is on customer service and quality. I have returned defective merchandise and customer service always takes care of any issues. I do believe in reading the product description carefully on the website. The description states clearly the carat weights, cut, and the measurement and number of the stones. Also, I believe you get what you pay for in quality. It all depends on what sort of jewelry you want to own. They certainly allow you to return it for a full refund if it isn't what you expected. Jewelry Television is a quality company!!

Just like on TV
Reviewer : Regina (Buffalo, NY)
I just bought a beautiful ring from Jewelry TV and it was all because I saw it on television and just couldn't resist. Even when I don't make any purchases, I love to watch the jewelry on their TV channel. It is a great place to see hundreds and hundres of beautiful jewelry pieces.

Junk on TV is still junk
Reviewer : Judith (Hartford, CT)
Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but it seems to me that Jewelry Television shouldn't be compared to the upper echelon jewerly shops just because you can see it on TV. Don't get me wrong, they have some nice items, with reasonable prices. But please don't kid yourself into thinking jewelry as seen on TV is somehow better than jewelry that is not.

Store on TV
Reviewer : Harriet (Baltimore, MD)
Jewelry Television is a great website because I am able to "browse" through the items when I watch them on TV. It is great because it allows me to get a better look and feel for each item, almost as if I was browsing in a store. It is a very unique but very fun way to shop.

Frequent Shopper....
Reviewer : Karen (Philadelphia, PA)
I watch Jewelry Television all the time and also check the website frequently, ordering when something appeals to me. They have wonderful items, all prices, and if I buy an item and it's not what I like, I just send it back, and they are excellent about returns! Not everything looks the same on arrival as it does on TV, but that's a communication problem. But most of the items I've ordered have been exactly as advertised and I'm very happy with them, giving them as gifts too. And you really can't beat the prices! And it's so nice to talk to a live, literate person in Customer Service!! Not like some places....

If you really want to find out what kind of junk you bought, take it to a gemoligist not a jewler. Jewlers do not have the knowledge, they sell preordered ready to sell. Comparable to Wal-mart jwelery.

Jewelry TV
Reviewer : Gina (Anaheim, CA)
Jewelry Television is wonderful. It allows people who do not have a lot of money to buy real (not lab created) gemstones and jewelry for expeceptional prices. Before JTV, I never thought it possible that I would be wearing beautiful high-class jewelry such as diamonds, tanzanite, saphires, and other beautiful jewelry. Since JTV, I owned very little jewelry, basically what my husband bought me as gifts (which after watching Jt I learned he payed way too much for). I have comparisoned shopped at several jewelry stores. They cannot even compete with JTV's prices. Since watching JTV, I have even developed a passion for loose gemstones as well. Watch the gemstone side, and you will really get an education about jewelry. Retail stores and jewelry stores cannot touch JTV's prices. Jewelry TV is the only place to buy jewelry, and if you do not like what you purchased or just changed your mind. Send it back. I believe they are probably one of the few honest companies around. I cannot compliment them enough.

Reviewer : Joyce (Jenison, MI)
I was not at all interested when I went to my sister for a stay, she had it on and I thought "Oh No! Junk TV!" Was I ever wrong! I bought a diamond ring that was very reasonable took it to be appraised as suggested by JTV and it was $2,000.00 over what I paid for it. Not only that but the appraiser offered to purchase it from me right then and there! He just could not believe it was from Jewlery TV, I wear it proudly!

I have shopped at JTV for about a year now. I have learned so much about gemstones. I appreciate the style and the information. I have collected some jewelry. Some has been very surprising quality for the price. Sometimes the quality is not what I want, and I am able to send it back with ease. I love JTV!

From time to time they offer free shipping deals and coupons on the internet for special discount offers. I love jewelry tv, i just say it enough.

TV/Online Purchases
Reviewer : Karen (Philadelpha, PA)
Basically, I like JTV, though I do return about half of the items I order, but that's just my fussiness, I'm sure. Better luck with purchases other than rings... so often, the diamonds that sparkle on TV or online are nonexistent in the real product!! But I have gotten some beautiful pearls and other nice pieces and are generally pleased with products. They're wonderful about returns, though slow to credit my account! Also, they tend to be slower with deliveries than I'm use to (like Lands End is 3-4 days tops!)so if I need an item for a birthday, I order well in advance.

I feel JTV has lowered their quality standards. The last few items I have ordered have been damaged or of poor quality. I also feel their hosts are beyond annoying. I have to watch with the volume muted! They stay on each item way too long and really, what is with the pricing games? Silly!

Reviewer : mary (toledo, OH)
I have ordered many, many items on jtv. I have sent 99% of the items back! They magfnify the jewelry/gemstones, to the point where you think they're really a decent size. NO there not. I keep trying, but a little leary. Thank GOD for the 30 day inspection period!!! I also think the shipping is high, especially on the gemstones. Good luck to everyone out there! Mary

Reviewer : Denise (Shingle springs, CA)
Heres the thing, you get what you pay for. When people complain about JTV they have probably bought VERY low price cheap product! JTV has very beautiful gems and jewelry, and at EXTREMELY low prices compared to stores. I have bout georgeous stones and jewelry from them and I have sent back a few. They are always accomodating and treat me very well. The gems are shipped within 3-4 days and when I send something back the returns are hassle free. I have 6 tnazanite pear shape gems that I bought for 50 bucks a piece and have had them appraised by a gemologist for between $500 to $1000 a piece depending who's buying!! Hey, can't beat that!!! You should see the junk they sell on ebay!!!

I have been a customer for many years I have seen the quality gradually sink with their products, ordering loose gemstones never get what you order unless its a one only-host promises top color dark blue on tanzanite and you get it and its light/meedium purple and damaged/. I have sent back probably 85 percent of what I have bought over the last 8 months because of quality-price. shipping is outrageous if you call in, if you do it over internet its usually about 4.99 standard shipping. I have called in customer support very pleasant to talk to, they tell you to send letter which I have done, and that goes unanswered, emails are answered until you hit a sore spot then they stop answering your emails. I wish they would look back to the past and remember how they ran things about 7 or 8 years ago good customer support, good prices, excellent quality items..

I have been with ACNTV or JTV for a long time and I have to say most of the stones I get I keep. I have sent back a few, who would not, even with a dealer you would look through all his stones before you picked the one you liked. Now the jewerly I have to say 50/50. Lately their stuff has been on the bad side (even the high end stuff). Do take it to the gemologist and have it checked out. I have sent back 6 out of 11 items (just in the last 45 day's). Watch their actions also, the pictures are not what they seem. All in all I still watch and order but I watch what I order because I do not want to send back anything. P.S. with Any Coupons I get free shipping and % off so most of the time I do not pay for shipping. Thanks

Reviewer : RICHELLE (TAMPA, FL)
The parcels are leftovers. I've sent back as many as i keep and i'm real tired of hearing that all the gems are real. I've had lab created and even yags in my parcels. I don't even watch the shows with dawn she's so annoying. Jtv seems to be going down hill in the past year and it's a shame because they taught me a lot about gemstones but they need to remember who made them big and go back to treating us customers like they want us to keep shopping with them and not send us back to the stores where we know what were going to get.

Reviewer : Nancy (Navasota, TX)
I have read some of the reviews on JTV and take exception to some of them. First, I am amazed by the prompt arrival of my purchases. I am usually told it will take ten to fourteen days and I always get my purchases within a week. Second, the gemstones do appear larger but that is so the customer can see what the gemstone actually looks like. Do you expect to get large gemstones in a one carat parcel? I have gotten many pieces from JTV and am just so happy with my purchases. I have had to do a few returns but my account was promptly credited and I have never had one person get rude with me even when I am gushing over some of the items I see on the screen. I don't agree that the hosts are boring but they do tend to lead up to certain pieces a bit longer than necessary. All in all, I have enjoyed shopping with JTV and will continue to do so as long as I am able. I have one tiny thing that is neither a complaint or a derogatory, when I am trying to purchase an item and it is removed from the turntable and I think it is sold out. Hey guys, it's okay because the operator always assures me that the item is still available. Finally, I have purchased several gemstone parcels. I have a black diamond, a yellow diamond and a blue diamond! I have a Burma ruby! I have lots of peridot, topaz, prasiolite, and sapphires! There are too many stones to mention but if you know what you are looking for, you find some real beauties. Thank you so much JTV and keep up the good work!

rebuttal to complaints
Reviewer : Nancy (Navasota, TX)
I have read the reviews and am surprised by some of the scathing remarks. It is true the gemstones are magnified but I like to see what I am getting before I buy an item. I have a hard time thinking that someone would expect large gemstones in a one carat parcel! I have gotten several diamond parcels and will be incorporating them into pieces that I will wear with pride. I have also purchased several gemstone parcels and was amazed at what I found: a blue diamond, a yellow diamond, a black diamond, a Burma ruby!!! I am pleased with my purchases. The only suggestion I have is when an item is removed from the turntables and I am calling for that particular item there is a moment of panic when I worry that I have missed a good buy! I am a very satisfied customer and even the operators listen when I call to make a purchase and start talking about some of my previous buys. Keep up the good work!

Reviewer : K.R. (Elkins Park, PA)
I've had to return several bracelets that were damaged, which is annoying because this damage should have been obvious! Also, lately the hosts are really getting on my nerves...spending way too long on each item, talking about "retail pricing" like they really know, and the hype is getting to me. I watch it on TV less often now and just check occasionally online for things I might have seen or things I know I want. I pass on all gem shows...a waste of time unless you make jewelry. And the Tanzanite hype makes me nuts - if it's so hard to find, why do they have sooo much of it??!! If they all talked less, they'd be able to present more items and sell more things! (Angela Morgan is very good, though, and I make a point to watch her.)

Excellent Customer Friendly Company
Reviewer : Jeanine (Rhome, TX)
I believe JTV is a wonderful company. Operators are quick and friendly and will stay on the line with you until you feel you are satisfied. All my purchases were wonderful. I had one return. They not only replaced the item in a timely manner but had me keep the item that I was not pleased with. They have taken any criticism and tried to offer remedies. To those with the scathing remarks, I understand it is a free country and you have the right to voice your opinion, but I think the problem lies in either 1. You are a jeweler with a chip because you can't sell your overprice stuff with a company like this. or 2. You are a snob who wouldn't be caught dead paying a reasonable price for jewelry. Don't compare with Wal-mart. I shop at Wal-mart and their jewelry is not even close to the quality of what you get at JTV. Thanks JTV keep doing what you are doing. Educating and making lots of people happy whilst annoying a select few. Have a great day and happy shopping.

Reviewer : judi (eureka, CA)
gemstone jtv is on at the house almost 24/7. i have ordered and returned 2 rings i purchased from them long ago, the prongs broke and the stones were lost. well, it is only 10k gold and seemed pretty brittle. my $ was happily refunded, no questions asked and quickly. i have been collecting gemstones for about 40 yrs, and i have gotten some simply amazing gemstones from them. i educate myself about something before i buy it, and know what is a reasonable price and what is puffed up some. i know what the stone should look like when i get it, based on the nature and character of the same kind of gems. they are good educators, but i also catch some contradictions in the shows. i have heard statements that sent me to the computer to investigate, only to find they have not misstated anything. i've never gotten anything fantabulous in a gemstone parcel, but for certain i have gotten stones out of each parcel that was worth more than the price of the parcel. i have also sent back 2 parcels that arrived on the same day as the stones were terribly damaged and heavily includded. all parcels were over in the stated carat weight. single stones i have purchased thru jtv were all over the min. carat weight stated, and beautiful stones. please note, jtv is telemarketing at it's finest. the gems are magnified 36x's when you see them on the telly. they use lighting to bring out the flash of the stones, and you will not have the same lighting in your home unless you photograph gemstones for a living or hobby. remember, too, that no two monitors and telly's see the "true" colors. i've never gotten a stone that did not have the same tone, hue and saturation as the ones shown. customer service is always polite, understanding, clear and helpfull. shipping can be pricey, but i save my shopping for the free shipping events when i can. if not, i buy several stones of the same lot at once and pay only one shipping charge. i will continue shopping with jtv.

The prices on jewelry television cannot be matched by any television network. The quality of jewelry and gemstones are extraordinary. The hosts are caring, informative and entertaining. I am now in the process of obtaining a GIA degree and I sell jewelry that I make from the gemstones and castings available through the comprehensive website. I credit my passion and pursuit of future knowledge of gemstones and jewelry to Jewelry Television.

I knew very little about gems - the seemingly endlss shades and colors, how to recognize the quality of gems, the pricing of gems, where they originate and even the condition of the mines. I have gained an appreciation for gems. Thank you for helping to develop my love and curiosity. ( I do agree that the pricing games and silliness often gets on my nerves. The hosts are genuinely kind, but can go overboard. Question : Why show 2 neckleces or 2 bracelets when you offer them singlely ? It implies that to buy only 1 of an item is not good enough. I enjoy the choices of jewelry on a particular host's show, but can't stand the silly chatter so I mute the show. She might actualy have something worth hearing, but there is too much other junk . My overall rating is very good. Thank you!)

I have shopped JTV for several years now and return over half of what I get. I have returned all gemstone kits - nothing noteworthy in there - all swiss blue topaz, etc. The hosts are mostly obnoxious and very very pushy - like someone else said, sometimes I have to turn the sound off. I watch because I love looking at jewelry and I have learned more about gems from JTV than I knew before. But they OVERESTIMATE retail values to make their sale prices look good...It's a racket....I do watch but am very judicial about what I order BECAUSE I got a letter saying I was returning too much!!!! That they try to keep prices down but can't if people return so many things and a veiled threat to discontinue me as a customer....just, with all I said above, beware....

Reviewer : Liz (Arlington, MA)
I have shopped on jtv for 6 years now, in the past I have purchased many wonderful pieces...but to date, since they started to advertise and go for the mass marketing them, they are more interested in quantity than quality. Also they have add more hosts and changed the schedule so many times, it’s hardly worth listening to any more...there prices have gone way up and there quality has gone way down. the host seem so desperate to sell they must have to meet a quota......anyway they have gone way down hill and Wendy has to be the worst host on the planet, she is always whining about something and she is just not believable. You can tell if you are a regular that they are playing pricing games and straight out false advertising. telling you that stuff is sold out is just a game to get you to buy thee hold back product and then bring it back on another show...how stupid do they think we are....they have lost credibility...in there business and if you are a new customer beware....they are scamming just like the rest of these shopping networks, in fact they are now in the home shopping slot, probably bought them out so you know they are trying to hit a larger market and when they do that they just don't care about the customers anymore...its all about the dollars, bad move on there part with the oil and gas prices and the general economy going down hill so fast who wants jewelry, we need fuel and gems aren't going to heat the house or fill up the car!!!!

Hosts
Reviewer : Diane (Southgate, MI)
I would like to contact an official Tennessee government agency to report JTV's hosts for showing more than one item at a time giving a false imoression that you are getting more than what you're really buying. Hosts like Nikki and Sharon ALWAYS show TWO pearl necklaces, TWO (or more) diamond bracelets... it gives a false impression. Once in a great while a note will be added to the left of screen saying "Two Shown" but I have only seen that a few times. Should I write the Tennessee Attorney General Paul Summers or is there a better agency to contact? If anyone knows, please send a message. Also, maybe if ALL of us call and ask if that is one item or two being shown, they will get annoyed and stop doing it? They have the worst hosts in the business. QVC and HSN may cost more but the hosts are mature and don't play the awful price games and never pressure us. It is soothing to watch their calm, quiet (never yelling) hosts.

JTV 6 years later!
Reviewer : Peg (Le Claire, IA)
I have been watching and buying from JTV since they were ACN. There were alot of things I liked better about the old way, however I still think they are the best overall. I have purchased way too many things to list. I have returned several however I have kept most. I have received a .93ctw blue diamond that I set in a modest semi mount appraised out at $3400.00+, a .17ctw alexandrite with a strong color change. I had a 4.ctw chrome tourmaline, emerald cut stone that I mounted in a nice diamond semi-mount and it appraised at $3600.00 I believe. I have had lots of other nice stones and lots of mediocer ones, however the good have way surpassed the price paid. As I said these were only some of the treasures I have found. I also make jewelry and purchase and resale some of their jewelry at a small profit. I am handicapped and JTV has made me feel productive again. I agree about some of the changes being too commercial, and the host will misrepresent the amount of product available. They pretend to be surprised about the same things over and over. Pretend to cut the prices when the same product showed an hour ago at that price. Again, overall I still think they beat the rest. Thanks JTV.

Quality has gone down in past year. I have ordered 70% less items than usual. I have only kept 2 items in past 6 mos.! It is better to charge more for better quality! Especially the diamonds- they put a 6 ct. stone on a ring and then 2 little 1/2 pt. diamonds on each side - LOOKS CHEAP!! Most of the time, I send back because of poor diamond clarity!! Get back to quality JTV!! And more honesty from hosts. They need to show items all the way around - not just top view. Also a problem on internet- not many items show varied views.

Jewelry TV Review
Reviewer : Lee (Warner Robins, GA)
Like anything else, you must educate yourself about jewelry and gemstones. Do not trust the show hosts to do it for you. Also, if value matters to you, have the jewelry or gems appraised by a gemologist. I have bought some beautiful jewelry and gemstones, but I have returned more than I have kept. I returned one stone eight times before I got the perfect one. If there is damage to an item and you return it, send a letter with copies of your shipping costs reciepts and the company will return your original shipping fees and your return shipping fees. Also you can send an item back for exchange if you are not satisfied with the one you have recieved. You just have to be willing to jump through the hoops to get the best item for the best price. I believe it is worth it when you get a ring appraised for $1800 that you purchased for $211. Also, I advise that you do not tell the appraiser where the item was purchased, you may not get a fair appraisal. I did that with one local gemologist on a tanzanite and was told it was poor quality and not worth more than $200. He also took the opportunity to make several disparaging remarks about JTV to me in front of his other customers. This was my first JTV purchase so I did not know any better, but his attitude did not seem quite right so I took the stone to 2 other gemologists and 2 prominent jewelers and all of them valued it as excellent quality with the value varying between $1000 to $1500. You have to be an educated consumer just like if you were buying a car or a house.

Quality of merchandise is excellent. Shipping can be a little slow since they use USPS on standard shipping. 15% off coupon I found here makes it even better. I'll never buy from another local jewelry store again. Thanks JTV.

Great Bargains
Reviewer : Dennis (Bristol, TN)
If not for JTV I would not have been able to bring so much joy to many lives on Christmas Morning, They have great values and things to fit everyones budget. I am not saying I have never returned anything because I have, however, I always get 100% of my money back with NO questions ask or anyone trying to have me do an exchange instead. The customer service is THE BEST hands down. I have been shopping with JTV for YEARS and if the good Lord let's me live I hope to continue. Those of you who do not like the products can simply return them as none of us will like everything all of the time with any company. It's Thumbs up and full speed ahead as far as I'm concern and those who do not like it have other choices as none are held at gun point to shop with JTV. I would suggest using all of that negative energy trying to find a better bargain, and GOOD LUCK, to you. I personally am on a budget, like nice things, and know right where to get them, Thank You JTV.

If it looks good buy it, but stop complaining!!!
Reviewer : Roberta (Bethlehem, PA)
I've read through all the reviews here, and most were quite complimentary. I have been shopping at JT for many years. I have never sent anything back, and always have received many compliments on my pieces. The best part about their pieces is that you will not see yourself coming and going with others wearing your jewelry! Quality is good, gems are triple A quality, settings are good. I also make jewelry and always turn to JT for their gemstones and settings first. I don't think that the hosts are pushy at all, just loud at times, that's what the mute button is for. Since I am in the business, I watch just to catch prices, styles, etc. You won't find me complaining, just telling my friends about the great buys and deals!

New and Still Undecided...
Reviewer : Lisa Keller (massapequa, NY)
I am new to JTV, and after reading the reviews, and I am glad I did, I learned alot. I decided to post, as a new customer. As far as the hosts, I like Cheryl, but annoying is an understatement, especially Mandy and Wendy, I either turn the sound off, or turn the show off. Wendy starts lulling you with a soft, soothing almost hypnotic voice, then starts screaming like an auctuoneer, all in the same sentence! Can't stand it! And Mandy, well, listen to the way she says "dollars" when something is on a good sale. A loud, grating, awful sound comes out of her mouth and I cringe. Can not watch her at all. And my biggest omplaint is all the hosts spend WAY too long talking before ever showing an item! I was switching back and forth last night, and im telling you, 20 minutes later the host was still talking and I still didnt see a piece of jewelery, So, I shut it off again. If they would move faster they could get alot more in. They can "educate" us about a piece while it's showing. I have ordered a few things, I sent two parcels back, what junk, The stones were tiny and some were cracked. Mostly peridot and topaz and citrine stones, very light too. The loose fancy colored diamonds, well, you couldnt even see them! They were the size of pin heads, if even that. What do people do, have every stone appraised to know what they are and the value? Thats impossible, it would cost too much to do. Thats why I am very suspicious of the statements they make about people's appraisals. I also got a tanzanite stone seperately, I kept that, it was very pretty. And I also got a ring Im still deciding on, its pretty, but the tanzanite is so much lighter than it looked on TV. The returns are easy though, which is great and the customer service people are nice. I think the turntables are a great idea, but they should find a way to show every item, so at least we know what they are. So, all in all, I will keep watching, and see how things go. I have gotten things from HSN, QVC and ShopNBC also, and so far the best quality is ShopNBC.

I'm a new customer to JTV. I never watched before, but recently found some time (and money) to do so. I can only say that before JTV I never owned any good pieces of jewelry. I have so far purchased a Champange Diamond Tennis bracelet, 2 sets of pearls, a Ruby ring, and several other loose gems and parcels. I ended up sending a parcel back along with a lower priced bracelet. If it weren't for JTV I would still be on the outside looking in! I have a few great pieces and am learning more everyday. My only real complaint is that they do not carry many rings in size 10 or bracelets in size 8. But so far a very happy customer.

I can't stand lsitening to JTVs hosts, I usuall put the TV on 'mute'. And their jewelry is NEVER worth what you pay, unless you're buying cheap, but then it falls apart anyway. I have shopped othet chanels and their prices are the best on TV. I do wish they would get right to the price at times. But overall they are Great!

new hosts-hurray!
Reviewer : sue (vienna, VA)
Have been "watching" jtv for 4 years and have purchased many things, many of which I enjoy, However, it is impossible to watch without muting the tv. Best to be in front of your computer to check for prices because it can take 20 min. or more before they finish their rambling, their pricing game and counting backwards. Guess they want to prove they know how. They need hosts that stop yelling, acting shocked about their prices, and give us the cost up front. Presentations are way too long and boring and the stories of grannies, husbands, etc will bore even the bored. Some jewelry nice, but a lot of junk too. You pay for what you get. Too many of my rings have lost the small stones after one wearing or two times, so best to stick to solitaires. How refreshing to see some new hosts, and hope to see them host alone, and more often, and not with the old hosts or they will start to ramble on and play those dumb pricing games. They will grow faster if they change some of their selling strategies because then more people might watch the jewelry shows. JTV, show us the item on the body part it belongs on and off the tweezers so we get an idea of the size. Show us the back and sides, and clasps. Give us the cost up front, spend no more than 5 minutes on a piece, and move on to the next. Show each item on the turntables on the hand wrist or neckline so we have an idea of sizes. Put pendants on chains and earrings on the ear in presentations rather than on a tweezer. What fine jeweler shows jewelry on a treezer anyway? And last STOP PLAYING SO MUCH MUSIC AND TELLING US YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO SHOW EACH PIECE ON THE TURNTABLE due to time and cost for airtime. IF YOU STOPPED PLAYING MUSIC, YOU WOULD, AND PROBABLY WOULD SELL MORE AND AS CONSUMERS WE CAN MAKE A BETTER DECISION ON PURCHASES. SIZE MATTERS. HAVE WASTED TOO MUCH MONEY ON SHIPPING AND RETURNS. Customer service is not as good as it used to be. I don't think anyone there cares if you like the jewelry or if you are satisfied with purchases. Am glad to see Shawn change some selling strategies. She is very professional, she and Kim, but hope they will let her host alone. Hope they continue to let them sell that way, but will not hold my breath. Best to go straight to their website and save hours of aggravation. It would help if they wrote more info and give sizes and clasp info on the website. Four hour shows can be condensed to 2 if the endless chatter of the hosts and pricing games which are often so inflated were stopped. Please get more soft spoken hosts who can be watched and enjoyed as hosts on other shopping channels. The reason I do shop here is the unusal gemstone jewelry.

JTV Complaints?
Reviewer : Donna (Austin, TX)
Of all the many things I have bought from JTV, I have found one fact to remain consistent...certain prices bring you certain quality. If you are trying to buy a diamond for $29.00, you will get a diamond that is small...and worth $29.00 If you go up the scale...and pay even as little as $200.00 for a diamond...you will get a really nice stone. Small but nice..Diamonds are expensive...no matter where you buy them...so plan to put a little money into your purchase if you are looking for an eye poping diamond.However....you will get the best bargains on any diamond at JTV than at any brick and mortar store you will ever shop in! Hands down! No one comes close to the price and quality they offer. For any other stone...wellll...that's the fun of it all. You can get a HUGE bargain..if you shop carefully! And your stones will always appraise out for many times over what you paid for them. For the lady that says the gem parcels are dogs...There was a time I might have had to agree with you on this one. The stones use to be smallish...many were cracked or chipped...but even then you could find something in a parcel that paid for the parcel many times over. NOW...they have fixed the "small gem stones in the parcel" problem. The last parcel I ordered was their "NEW and IMPROVED" gem stone parcel. The smallest stone in the parcel was probably a third carat...No longer was the parcel all white or all pale topaz or mostly amythest as they were before. I found a candle light diamond, a natural alexandrite, a 3 carat iolite, several Clear and darker green emeralds...(not the foggy kind as they use to be in the parcel) a large ruby that appraised at $550.00,a large deep colored kunzite that appraised for $800.00 and Large ,deep in color . yellow topaz, pink sapphire, many other exotic stones. Most stones were a carat...many were 2-3 carats, and several were over 3 carats.(the largest weighing out at 6.06 carat. I bought a 200 carat parcel on sale for $199.00(No,we probably wont see that price again!) The stones seemed to be of a much deeper color than ever before. The clarity was excellent. And i dont recall finding even one cracked stone!I was..and remain..the biggest crab of a customer they have (if something shows up "sucking bad".) But I will also give credit where credit is due. They have succeeded in improving the gem parcel kits and even I cant say I have ANY complaints against these new parcels. I also recently purchased some of their rings in the $99.00 price range...and have to say..they were sharpe! (As long as you dont include a ringe with any diamonds on them. For $99.00 you will get mostly diamond dust... I bought a solitare emerald ring(Columbian emerald, slightly less than a carat in stones weight.) I received a verbal appraisal of $4200 from a jeweler looking at it.I paid $199.00 for the ring. Oh yes! JTV has the bargains...just spend some time looking at the products before you buy. If you dont like what arrives...send it back...and try another product. Returns are easy and painless. Give the new parcels a try....they are well worth your time and money.

Taking chances
Reviewer : JR (Carol Stream, IL)
I have ordered several items, parcels, jewelry, gemstones. Half are returned because of being broken, scratch, not as expected. They will take the item(s) back but the shipping costs add up. Of jewelry pieces I've kept some needed to get fixed later with a jeweler. ie a gemstone kept falling out of a ring (prongs were to short to hold stone and the head was poorly crafted), on a strand of pearls 9-10mm the clasp was too small to negotiate and broke the first time I tried to where them. I then found out the silk thread used was also too thin for the size of pearls. All in all the repair cost just as much as the purchase price. But I have been lucky with some pieces appraising much higher than purchase price. But appraisals are more about the materials in the jewelry piece, not so much with the craftmanship. I'm afraid of losing a nice diamond or tanzanite because of the poor quality of craftmanship. Maybe that's why the prices are lower. This place is a gamble.

I like jtv. I have been watching for about 3 years. Only problem is the color looks darker on the tanz. than when you get it but, no problem sending it back. They do talk to much on one item and, it take forever to see it. If you are not happy with it send it back no problem. Still trying to find a great Tanz. at the right price. They need more yellow gold setting too. Overall very happy with them.

Hey Sue from Vienna, Va.! I just read your review and agreed with EVERY single word you wrote. I really could not have said it any better. It was perfect!!!Please write the exact same thing and mail it to Bob Hall, JTV president. Maybe he will get the hint that we are disgusted with his host's stupid price games, daddy and granny stories, quantity countdowns, calling for the "Off Air Price", screaming (Tamara)and the looooong time they spend on each item. This channel has such wonderful potential but the bosses need to start being bosses and should kick their hosts in their rears. I want to start liking JTV again. I want to be able to shop without getting annoyed and be able to watch with the volume on. I wish they would fire most of the old hosts. To all of you sick of the crappy hosts---start writing Bob, tell him how you feel, maybe that will help. Thanks again Sue, it's nice to know someone else feels the same way I do!

I am glad to see I am not just becoming an old grouch. I agree with the reviews saying the quality has gone down and the prices have gone up. And the hosts-my God they must think we are all deaf they way they yell. Tamara is like nails on a chalk board and as corney as they come. And Wendy-save the money and get a monkey to sit there and play music for 4 hours. She shows nothing-what a slug. I have stopped watching with the exception of 2-3 shows a week.

what are false and misleading sales tactics that become terroristic tactics with old ACN
Reviewer : mari murry (phoenix, AZ)
Many Thanks to Many of the previous writers who are discerning & not connected with JTV,its managers & employees have reported 12 years of facts/ truths about ACN's high-handed unprofessional tactics. It's in sales, buying, sorting (logic alone proves the barrel of stones they show cannot be filled by opening even a hundreds of left-over "Gem Jars" grand stones-- no,something else is going on in some BARRELS). It's also in the packing, shipping and the customer accounts'computerized "data"- -(about which the TN AG and other consumer agencies have had complaints- Check what 'data'they put in your account. It's Better to Complain to YOUR OWN state Attorney General's Consumer Fraud/Protection section and copy the TN AG's.) it's in their accounts/finance section & "customer care." horrors. About Xmastime, they offered many pieces not shipped in fresh clean colors as shown or with 7mm "Tahitian"pearls of two clearly different colors -bronze and black. So different gifts had to be bought with other money while the wait for refund went into the new year. The diamond pieces we bought (some not so inexpensive) were all called "FROZEN SPIT' BY a high-end shop's GEMOLOGIST who appraised them and said that is a term used to describe dead, greyed, mottled, yellowed diamonds, which were in every piece three of us bought. Also counted on XMAS special care helpers in selecting the particular piece for those who purchased pieces over $500.00. Again,a number of us sought help from the "HELP' section. Told NOT in existence. Tried to send some back and told 30/15 days passed.so too bad; sent back for exchange an ugly pearl center stone ring with lovely diamonds alongside it, and got one try which we sent back because it was the reverse of the first one: now dead diamond stones alongside a lovely center pearl in the ring, after which they simply said nothing, and three weeks later a credit appeared. Try complaining. When we timely cancelled some orders before shipping by calling customer service, they were cancelled, but the "Bank drafts" section managed by an old timer on 1996-97 night shift who took orders with Caesar, was now an accts. exec. named Wanda, who with Teresa, failed to check the cancelled multiple orders;processed the drafts and caused a domino effect of overdrafts which they refused to cover but did close our account and later cusstomer service supervisors insisted there was no record of any calls to them to cancel those orders.(Apparently, we just wanted to waste big bucks on dominoes, plus their multiple redeposits of a number of spearatee orders made that same day and all cancelled at the same time and confirmed cancelled.) These abuses of fair consumer dealings are only some of what we know of in the county. Bob Hall WAS Pres then(now it's Bill Kouns). He just let Wanda/teresa write his excuse letter that supported their outrageous lack of computer systems or proper use of them and interfacing among the then rather small depts. As for the TN State AG,every complaint I read here is multiplied by many.If we all complain to our state AG's Consumer Fraud Section attaching copies of documents as proof, they will have to take actions to recover for us. The uniform comments about for hosts being offensive ,immature, blabbering and loud are also interesting. But we think Dawn has always, until recently, been open, honest, humble and calm, unlike the brazenly exaggerating ,brash, bellowing or annoyingly nasal,unsuited-for-tv types they have. until recently. Think the bosses have pressured the more responsible hosts like her, Cheryl, Robert,Tommy Brown, Jerry, the then-new Janine--where did they put her lately because she would not or could not speak , as some of you noted, like Wendy, a "Not-for- public TV" nasal.who swallows her words while at a mile-a-minute,or brash, braying Misty whose bloated 'facts'cause us to change the channel as we do for sure with Wendy and mile a minute Mandy, and Nicky whose experience is not as she claims but is a childhood bud of the very pleasant VP Jerry. Tamara started as a very articulate, calm and interesting second seater. She was primed to humiliate herself and annoy us,as now the others have been. Maybe It's how to keep their mortgages paid. Angie( never watch her anymore because she almost single handedly knocked that professional and articulately calm Janine into off-stage rehab/re-education camp, by criticizing her on-air. If Angie had been attentive at that particular time-Janine's "new-kid" uncertainty whether to command the camera crew to close in on a multi-colored ring- would have not happened. Maybe some 'boss' gave the 'go after her' to Angie, and Angie was good at it. BAD. We personally were embarrassed, as you get when someone is reprimanded like a dummy, insultingly before you. This stuff is old ACN and a shame. Tommy Brown once said he would not shout to sell. He too got a bit louder and forceful of late. The hosts' "bosses" decide what 'works.' You will hear them mention,"My boss." Their tactics will, sooner more than later, turn and choke off their very breath if they don't improve. We don't wish that for anyone though, but just discovered this site and want to make these truths known. There is much more, too. HAS anyone purchased the large Columbian emeralds or Andesenes and gotten those large,even-toned,colored stones as claimed and shown? Twenty people we know ordered and sent them back, wasting time and money mailing and insuring. Yes,Virginia, they do think we're stupid. They show kits and stones and jewelry as if the ones they show were not cherry-picked. Humbug. Dawn had stated she refuses to lie or show junk, but now it's all of them, I guess. They were like our tv family before. It's the off-camera,old timer managers who create the animosity and disgust so many of you(us too) know and wrote. Thanks for all of your true experiences and honesty.

Hosts, product quality
Reviewer : Diana (Westerville, OH)
Hi! Have been a JTV viewer for 6 years now. Agree with all who say the hosts are obnoxious! Can only watch Dawn and Angela (especially the speed shows). If I have to hear Mandy say "dollars" once more I think I'll scream. Wendy trails off the end of every sentence she starts and Angie needs to stop playing dumb. It's gotten old! Tired of the pricing games too. My formula is to take JTV's "retail value" and divide it by 4. Nine times out of 10 their final price will be 25 % of their stated retail price. As for purchaese I've sent back more than I've kept, although I did have some luck with akoya pearls. And for the tanzanite, if it's so hard to get why do they have so much of it? Parcels are a joke. Have yet to find any of the alexandrite, emeralds or champage diamonds they say others have found. I've gotten mostly blue topaz and very light citrine. Speaking of champagne diamonds. Bought a pair of 1/2 ct twt champagne diamond studs from them. The settings were so cheap the prongs were bent and both stones sat askew. Needless to say I sent them back. If they're buying closeouts the jewelry seems to be of quality, but when they manufacture it themselves (they manufactured the studs and they seem to be doimg that alot more lately) the quality just goes down hill. They had a good thing going at one time but I'vee been consistently disappointed with them and haven't ordered anything in nearly a year.

For those of you who have purchased defective items or things that break during use, call customer service first. They have in-house jewelers who will repair or replace your item. Just make sure you keep your invoices to facilitate matters. One of my favorite rings lost a diamond that they replaced for me. I've never had any trouble with customer service. If it can be made right, they've always taken care of it.

Hey Mari in Phoenix- I just read your remarkable review! Woo! You said it all and then some. I ALWAYS wondered how Nikky kept her job since she is a such a horrible, horrible host and the laziest one too! (Have you ever noticed that she will only try on the rings? She will waggle a bracelet or watch from her finger tips but refuses to slide it up to her wrist.) She holds everything on her finger tips.... (or with tweezers) Weird or what? Is it that she's proud of her nails? Hell, we ALL have manicures/acrylic nails these days! So, you say she is close friends with VP Jerry? Well, well, well, that certainly explains how she keeps her job. (I would fire her in a minute if she was my employee!!!!) She is totally repugnant and I can't stand to watch her any more... even with the volume turned off! And to this website... thanks for letting us vent!!!! It's nice to know I'm not the only one angry and disgusted!

Tamara is so annoying that I turn off and watch someting else. Angie talks too much and it gets very boring!Quit wasting my time with your stupid stories! Wendy is another one, always adding in stories about her faith just to sell her shows! She misrepresents herself and the quantities of items continuosly. I'm sick of her, Tamara, Sharon and Angie! Can't they do any better? I don't know how much longer I'll keep shopping. I'd rather pay more or buy costume jewelry . At least then I don't have to listen to the garbage!

JTV
Reviewer : Mary (Flower Mount, TX)
Like another writer I too have read all the reviews so far. I have been shopping with them for over three years now and over all I am very happy with the pieces I have kept for myself and given. Not everyone out there can afford to even buy one piece, at Walmart let alone the higher end stores. JTV has brought the opportunity to own jewelry in all budget ranges. I have learned a lot more than I knew about gem stones before I started watching, which was nearly nothing like most people. Thank you JTV for the information. Learned enough to realize different gems are going to be of different size according to carat weight. All gem stones do not weigh the same by their size. Can be difficult to tell the color of a gem from TV or the web site. I ordered a Tsavorite ring, that I thought would be a lighter color and I was shocked at the depth of green when I received it. You can not buy a piece of jewelry retail and "return" it because something happens to it within 30 days. You are very lucky if they repair it, at no cost to you. I will agree that there are times I wish the hosts would spend a little less time on a piece and get going but in their defense sometimes a customer may be making up their mind on a piece and want to see more of it. I enjoy some of the stories and the little bit of banter between the hosts. Jewelry is in the eye of the beholder. One person may love a piece and another not care for the style at all. I would like to address the comment about JTV using "special lighting" to show the pieces or gems. All stores show the pieces in the best lighting available. Get a gemstone book a read up on how you should view gem stones; should be viewed in the "noon" day sun. Gem stones do not look the same in different lighting. I have often heard the hosts remark that you are viewing a piece at "a magnification of 40". They do tell you true. I am a collector of all the different garnets and I thank JTV for giving me the opportunity. (We can do without the remarks about folks that live in "mobile homes". Ugh!

An overall good deal

I have shopped JTV for about 3 years, and yes, I have sent some items back. It is also true that some of the items are damaged. Overall, you get the same quality you buy from a chain store(and sometimes private) jeweler. The prices are much better and the service is excellent. It compares very well against its competitors. I, too, find the hosts overly enthusiastic and frequently mute the volume.

Not worth time or money
Reviewer : Holli (Huntsville, AL)
The first time I ordered from this company, my ring came in the box with a severely damaged stone it was chipped beyond belief. I looked for peices of the stone in the box it came in and there were none!!! That means they shipped it to me like this, then I called the number on the invoice for customer service and it was a pay per call number--come to find out they printed the wrong number on their invoices but sent it out anyway not correcting their invoices. This was a rather expensive ring (which didn't look good at all even if it would have had a decent stone) as well and I cannot believe they sent it like that and they did not refund my shipping cost either. STAY AWAY from this company their jewelry looks like junk, if you want quality you will have to pay for it. period.

I totally agree about jctv hosts. I am sick of all the yelling. Its like they are trying to get your attnetion from another room, not like your infront of your tv. I dont mind watching Shawn, sht is the best and she gets to the point and tell you the price right off.I agree all the counting backwards, dollar by dollar, uugghh, mut stop, just give me the price already. Other tv sellers just tell you the price and move on. Oh and Mandy she repeats everything she says. That is so annoying. JCTV say she is "is one of our most effervescent show host"...Yeah like alka seltzer, who can stomach that stuff. I wish the execs would read some of this and do something about the hosts. They make the whole experience drawn out and tiresome. I would agree the hosts are the worst part of the show. I too have received some junk jewelry and returned it. The less you pay the cheaper the jewelry, I understand that but come on. Anything over $100 should not be junk. You can buy nice jewelry in a store on sale for $100. Okay enough .. time for me to move on, starting to sound like them..

Hosts
Reviewer : Joan (Orlando, FL)
I used to like a couple of the hosts but now I would be hard pressed to pick even one I like to watch. What ever happened to Heather? I kind of liked her. I suspect Nikki had something to do with her leaving. Heather used to do a great job on the Red Carpet shows then suddenly Nikki appeared and took over. Nikki would not let Heather show anything or hardly even let her speak... Nikki is the most obnoxious and cocky host they have. Also, what did Angie say to Janine? I missed that show. But, I watch with the sound muted so even if I saw the insult I would not have heard it. Did she get her canned? I, too, am sick of Angie's "stupid" act. The thing is, I don't really think it's an act. She is truly stupid and annoying. And, I agree, I hate how Mandy says "DOLLLLL--ERRRRS" too! What is up with that? What is with Scott counting down the quanity on EVERY item he shows???? And why does Cheryl give a 30 minute lead in EVERY time she shows Tanzanite? I swear if she reads one more customer e-mail about an appraisal they received.... If Tanzanite is so rare, why is there a seemingly endless supply of it? And Misty's constant repeating "WHILE THEY LAST!!!!" and "First come first serve!!!!" and "How fast can you dial????" These awful hosts are why I can only watch with the volume muted. Even then it gets on my nerves since hosts like Nikki refuse to try on the jewelry. Hosts like Tamara confuse me as to why she is even on the air. What an awful host!!! Moron! Yelling, ranting.... Sharon too! And Wendy.... good Lord what a terrible host! Another reason I mute is because of her phoney religous sales tactics. Whew, I feel better! Sure wish they would get all new hosts so I can start watching with pleasure again in lieu of anger and resentment! I can deal with an occasional return due to a faulty item but it's the damn hosts that make me turn to HSN and QVC!!

Janine
Reviewer : Pamela (Bremerton, WA)
I too am very curious as to what happeneed with Janine. She seems to be a breath of fresh air. She was so cute on the Xmas specials. I have only been watching for just over a year. It is such a great concept, but, like most anything else it will be ruined because of greed in some way. I have been able to have some things I would never have been able to have any other way. I have bought a number of things, some I have returned, no problems there. I have learned to take my jewelry to my jeweler and have it looked at because the workmanship is very poor. The hosts, where did they get these little Georgia peach pits anyway? Wendy is absolutely horrid. Mandy is sickening and if I hear about Nikki's years of experience one more time I'll puke. She is so full of herself. I agree, she is the only one to try on jewelry when she is working with someone else. She thinks she is all that and so much more. I am so sick of the drawls. I used to like Tamara, now she screams like she's been gut shot or something. I do hate the pricing games. Especially when they make it sound like they (the host) is marking it down and is going to get in trouble. You go on line, and when the web site is keeping up, it will show you bottom price. So the hosts are just making it sound like they are doing something naughty or spur of the moment. The shipping is atrocious. I use one or 2 stamps and have never insured anything when I have sent it back. I wish they would read the negative comments written here and do something about them, they would have a much better company.

SHIPPING COST AT JTV
Reviewer : CATHY (INDIANAPOLIS, IN)
I was really happy to find a coupon. On the low price loose stones, i hate to spend more in shipping. Over all, i like jtv. I make jewelry and the stones can be nice, and if you don't like them, send them back. I never made an online purchase before. So for me, the downside is,,,now i'm hooked.

To all of those that say JTV is junk, they need to purchase something worth their while. You do get what you pay for, but even lower end products are nice.!!! And if you arent satisfied you send it back for 100%money back garentee, and I have returned two things out of hundreds!!! And never had a problem. Bella Luce is the best "Fake" jewelry I have ever seen. You have got to see it to believe it, they are gorgeous.!!!! And so far as gemstones which I purchase all the time, Parcels and Kits are the best thing that JTV has to offer anyone... I have a gemologist in my family and they say that everything is real and of upper quality to best quality, and for a tinnnnnny fraction of the cost of retail. I'm telling you don't be a pesimist...!!! Try JTV out, they are fabulous!!!!!!! I shop every chance I get every week, if not everyday, and so should everyone, I will never buy retail again. And those who compare to Wally World, are out of their minds.!!! DO NOT BELIEVE what some people say, they are just pesimistic!!! I am an optimist....!!! Love JTV, keep up the wonderful work.!!!!

Reviewer : Bob (Grand Rapids, OH)
I agree that the jtv hosts are the worst in the business. I also agree that we need to write the jtv pres and vp to let them know what/who we don't like. How else will they ever know we detest their hosts? If they knew so many viewers were watching with the sound muted (me included) they would not be happy. What I have been doing is calling customer service (1-800-581-3002) and complaining EVERY TIME a host annoys me. I am polite but I do let them know. I figure they have to do a call in report each shift with a summary of their calls. Hopefully, someone in a position of power sees this. So, for example, when Angie or Wendy stay on an item for too long, I call and complain. If we all write the head honchos and keep calling customer service, maybe the word will get out that we serioulsy dislike their hosts and would love to see some new ones. By the way, I hate Nikki the most too!

Reviewer : Mary Ann (Boston, MA)
I am surprise that so many people have the same opinion as me. Most of the hosts like to play pricing game. It just annoying and waste time to watch. Also, some of the customer cares are very rude. It takes months to get your refund and have to call so many times. If they keep doing like this, it will be no JTV. soon.

I call the customer service department whenever the hosts get on my nerves. The other day I really wanted to shop but Tamara and Sharon were hosting. These two are so annoying! They are awful! I assume they must be related to a big shot or something. Anyway, they were doing their ususal screeching and screaming routine so I called customer service and said, "If these two hosts do not screamining and yelling, I am going to turn the channel." Well, 2 minutes later, they did quiet down some. So, calling and complaining does work to some extent. I urge everyone to write and call to let them know we dislike their hosts. The customer service number I use is: 1-800-550-8393 I call every time I am annoyed!!!

A Gemologist Tells You The Truth
Reviewer : laurel (los angeles, CA)
Okay, girls. I've read the reviews and you all are right and wrong. I'm a GIA gemologist with 20+ years experience. JTV is okay for lower-end fashion jewelry. This is not where you want to buy investment grade stones or jewelry. Yes, many times items will appraise for more than you pay for it, but that is misleading. An appraisal is intended to inflate the value for insurance purposes, not provide a true value of an item's worth. An item is worth what it can be sold for; there is a big difference. JTV does not give color or clarity ratings on either their colored stones or diamonds. The reason is if they did, those of us with knowledge would never buy them. I ordered several items to examine them. The diamonds I received were all off-color, heavily included with a clarity of I2 or I3. The colored stones had okay color but were SI in clarity. Their quality is comparable to a mall store or Wal-Mart.

Great Company But Be Selective
Reviewer : Kelly (Gilbert, AZ)
I've been a customer for 1yr and have also returned more than I have kept (same as my sister), however, their customer service is stellar and have had no problems with returns. I find the quality and selection has gone down as well. The key is to fall in love with the piece. I think their diamonds are very low quality (pp under $500) and I find better deals at pawn shops. On the flip side, I've had very good luck with loose gem purchases (parcels aren't worth the money) and love my spessartite garnets. Appraised very high! The 'pricing games' are nails on a chalk board. Angela Morgan is my favorite by far. Overall, it's a great company and it is fun to shop and find bargains mostly through the internet and their auction. Have fun! Great way to buy jewelry. I'm still hooked, but don't shop as much.

Reviewer : ToddT (Va.Beach, VA)
Buyer Beware!! This is the oldest trick in the book the old " Bait and Switch" What you see is not what you get. Don't get caught up in the hype, most stones will apraise for more than you paid by at least 50% but if your looking to sell down the road with the poor quality you'll be lucky to get what you paid.Collectors, Buy from a dealer who grades the stones and offers a money back guarantee,( I have found several on the net with fair prices) you'll be amazed at the quality and the difference in price will be made up in less shipping charges.

JTV Hosts Talk TOO MUCH!
Reviewer : Lisa (Hyattsville, MD)
Hype-Hype-Hype-Hype-Hype. The hosts are driving me crazy. I love the show, Im a jewelry lover but I find myself going to SHOPNBC in between the hype. And I have to admit JTV has lost some sales from me because I wait 10 minutes to hear the bottom dollar price, get annoyed because it takes so long and then I turn another jewelry channel and theres the price right there no waiting. As far a quality, I think its good and the return policy is GREAT! no hassel dont like it send it back no problems unlike SHOPNBC who charge a restocking fee. JTV has a wide variety of items and gemstones. If you can stand the hype given by most of the host you will find something to your liking.

I went on this site and started reading some of the reviews. I now know that I am not the only one who finds Jewelry Television hard to watch. I too can not stand the hosts and their presentations. All the screaming/yelling/hype/pricing games- it gets on my nerves. I too find that I put the volume on extra low or muted all together and more often than not- just shut it off. Sharon is the most annoying to me. When that act like they made a mistake with a price, but will honor it- give me a break! I think this company should take a good look at their presentation and make some modifications. I find that I send back more than I keep.

once you get these items home. They are rarely as nice as they appear on tv or internet in size, quality, weight and clarity. Have purchased for over a year and have returned 90%, keeping only the "higher end" ($900.00+) items. The low end diamond items are terrible! Cloudy and dull with no "sparkle" at all. A diamond pave ring, at $1000.00 which I kept, lost a stone after a few wearings. I took it to my jeweler (who custom made both my and my husbands wedding rings),and said he would not even clean it for fear more stones would fall out! The workmanship on the pave setting was so bad they thought it was purchased at Walmart, made in China. The best thing they could do would be to glue in a CZ. When I contacted JTV customer service and told them about the lost stone and my jewelers comments they said since I had the ring several months there was nothing they would do. Even though it had only been worn a few times, I'd had it to long. So much for the show host's dribble about handing down an heirloom! It didn't even last a half dozen wearings! Speaking of show host's, I agree with other reviewers, they are the worst. The yelling and screaming, stupid banter and games with the pricing are not necessary - thank goodness for the mute button. Dawn and Sharon I can't even watch. Bottom line: buyer beware and you get what you pay for. If you consider your purchases costume jeweley or slightly higher, you will be happy with your purchase.

Not as good as they used to be
Reviewer : Karen F. (Oklahoma City, OK)
I've shopped Jewelry Television for a number of years and have noticed a gradual decline in merchandise quality. I still get some breathtakingly beautiful pieces of jewelry and gemstones at incredible prices. I've sent several pieces of jewelry back recently because it looked like someone had worn them for the entire 30 day inspection period and then sent them back. I think JTV could at least make an effort to repolish the scratches out of the gold before they resell a returned piece of jewelry. I always check the gemstone boxes when I buy loose stones to see how many pieces of tape are on the box. If it has several layers of tape, it usually means it's been returned by someone else because the stone is flawed. I don't approve of JTV's obvious policy of trying to sell returned, damaged, or worn merchandise to the next unsuspecting buyer. For now, I'll limit my purchasing to their "new arrivals" in jewelry and gemstones so I don't get someone else's rejects. I still find amazing bargains, but they're getting more and more rare. I must say, I check out their clearance items for rings that may have an inexpensive or inferior center stone, so I can replace it with one of the finer stones I have managed to purchase from JTV. The gem setting tools I bought more than paid for themselves the first couple of times I upgraded stones in rings myself. I continue to shop Jewelry Television, but as they change, I may have to change also.

I am a new gem collector who is enjoying watching and learning about natural gemstones. I have purchased several individual gemstones and parcels asw well. I would like to thank the hosts for sharing their knowledge with the customers. I have a lot to learn so please continue to enlighten me so that I can become a wiser collector. I do have only one issue with buying parcels and that is that I cannot identify some of the gems, especially the colorless and yellow gems. Helpful hints in determining which gems I have would be appreciated. The books I purchased help, but most novices do not have spectroscopes and microscopes to aid in distinguishing one gem from another. I am hooked on gem collecting and love the show. Thanks for making my new and fun hobby available to ordinary hard working people like me. Sincerely your: Barbara Flora

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL???? JTV is the best thing since sliced bread!!! I have also gotten an item or two that I returned. I have also returned items to "high-end" jewelry stores ( they were VERY unhappy when I asked for a refund - wonder why ). Most of my purchases from JTV have excedded my expectations both in appearance and quality - considering what I paid for them. Now as for the "pricing game" - if it is an article that I am truly thinking of buying, I get off my butt, get my phone, dial the 800 # and ask what the price is --- try it, it's not that difficult. Now about the show hosts -- sure some of them would irritate the horns off a billy goat, but I guess the rest of us don't irritate anyone at anytime ( ISN'T BEING PERFECT ALL THE TIME JUST GREAT????). About the value-vs-price comments, I have had some purchases appraised by a lady that does the estate appraisals for the State of North Carolina, owns her own jewelry store, and is a registered gemologist, so I feel pretty confident that when she tells me that I got a great deal, well, I GOT A GREAT DEAL. And the best part is that I didn't have to leave my living room or get dressed and put on any make-up to get MY GREAT DEALS!!!!!

Jewelry Television Does Not Care About It;s Customere, or the Poor Quality of Product The Sale
Reviewer : J C (Dallas, TX)
It is hard for Me to believe that so many have rated JTV with five stars. They must still be in the honeymoon phase, and to say they have never returned anything, is completly unfathomable. I have been a customer of JTV for almost two years. At first things went pretty good, and I got some nice rings, but I had to return three times what I kept, which can be very expensive. Several items were broken and cracked, due to the bad packing. Whenever I called Customer Service, they were of NO help. Even stating that the product I was speaking of was of poor quality, because they too had purchased it. And theirs had broken as well. I once ordered two champagne diamond rings, one 1 carat, the other l and 1/2. They were actually the same size, THE SAME SIZE!!!! The price difference was $80. I would have kept the less expensive one, but the color was terrible. My Mother ordered Me a London Blue Topaz necklace. The chain was old, used, dirty, and broken. She got it straightened out, but again, it cost Her shipping. Then there was the fake chip necklace incident. They were supposed to be amethyst, peridot, citrine, and blue topaz. I bought them to resale. Then received a letter from JTV saying they were fakes. They refunded My money, and let Me keep the necklaces, but they were useless. They turned out to be colored glass. I was told that they can only test one in every hundred or so items, so You have to wonder, what else is fake. Then there was the Jewelry boxes that had to be repaired, and the ones that were great except for the gold tone accents on the top, which were poorly done, and very tacky. It would have cost the same to have sent them back, due to their weight, than to keep them. And I can not use them. JTV has never responded to My letters, or complaints, letting Me know that they do not care. So when they say that they are into quality, and not quantity, they are simply not being honest. I am really fed up with JTV, their product, quality, the high cost of returning items, and the POOR QUALITY of Customer Service. BEWARE, it appears they no longer care about anything but selling poor quaility items, making a profit, and ingnoring it's Customers when they try to complain. Tired of being ripped off!!!!!!

I have to say, that it is a good thing that all of us are so perfect. I found JTV about 2 years ago, and have started studying Gemology. I found that buying the parsels I am learning how to identify stones, and their characteristics, etc. By reading the Bio's on the hosts, I watch the ones with the education to teach me about the stones. The wonderful thing about our TV system is it has an on and off switch, and I have found it works very well if you do not want to watch something. I rather enjoy the internet and do all my purchases from there and can study while I listen to Cheryl or Scott. For thoes of you who have a real adversion to JTV and the hosts, I suggest you go to a gym and work out your frustrations, or go volunteer some place where you are less likely to be exposed to the harsh reality of the world of shopping.

Reviewer : Allen (Seattle, WA)
JTV is in the business of sales. They are not your family or friends. Obviously diamonds are not their strong point so don't buy diamonds from them. Items are magnified so you can actually get an idea of what they look like. Pay attention to the carat weight and mm size. Treated means treated. You have to be a smart shopper to get a good buy no matter where you shop. JTV is all about good buys on gemstones for the most part. That is the core of their business. You have to do your research to know what you are buying. Also remember that rare stones are going to be harder to resell because there is a smaller market for them. Most people should stick to saphire and ruby in loose stones if you want an investment. Sent them back if you don't like what you get, but you can get great buys if you know what you are doing.

I have purchased several items from JTV. Jewelry and gemstone parcels and single gemstones. Some for myself, as well as gifts for friends. Overall, I think JTV is GREAT! I have sent back 1 parcel that I was not pleased with, and received another in less than a week. At times, some of the hosts can be very annoying (I won't mention any names) I just don't watch when they are on. Most of the time, I shop online. You do have to pay attention to carat weight, dimensions and such because everything IS magnified to see the detail. So use your heads people, before you buy and you should be pleased with what you get.

Update
Reviewer : Donna (Austin, TX)
I believe there is trouble in paradise on JTV. Over the past 6 months I have had to return more than i kept. Very unlike me. I still get great customer service and fast refunds to my account..but the quality has not slipped. It is down right plunging! The Labradorite I bought this past 2 weeks has been horrible! All is being returned. (around $3000.00 worth) I only expect the quality they rave about having. And I have not received it...at all. Poor quality stones, chipped stones, streaked, large windows, inclusions, you name it. The stones have been riddled with them. And no matter what the "impending value" of a stone is. A crappy stone will always bring a crappy price. I complained about a parcel and had an new parcel sent to replace it immediately. The replacement parcel was great! The next 3 parcels have been crap again. I have returned all three. Small stones, broken stones, poor colored stones, you name it...it is what the parcel is made of. Even on tv i see the parcels they show with craxked and chipped stones. Are they at the BOTTOM of their gem barrel? Seems so. they might throw in ONE good stone..and it may be of some value..but I think they do this to make you keep the whole parcel so you can have this one stone. I have found I can buy individual stones in the same number as I would have received if the stones in the parcel were the larger stones they advertise, I lose the "special find" aspect of opening a parcel, but I dont send as many back. And I can send stones back that i dont like and I am able to keep the ones that measure up.I use the free shipping coupons every chance i get...and especially for large orders. I also use the 15% and 20 % discount coupons....but i think when i use the discount coupons I received really inferior stones. Almost as if they are not willing to give you the better stone unless you pay full price. I have noticed this with almost every coupon ordered stone I have received. Example, my emerald was cracked, almost in half. My red lab had a window so large I could crawl through it. I think they are not getting qulity stones anymore. I think the gem miners dont want to sell to them at the low price they offer..even if they do pay cash. I think, perhaps, that the best stones are going to the European market and the Orient. I dont think the miners are in that much of a bind they have to sell to JTV anymore. I think JTV is getting crappy stuff and selling it as not so crappy stuff. I dont like the fact that JTV doesnt tell you if their stones are "eye clean" or "loop clean". I would appreciate a bit more honest info there. I think you can find a good stone or a beautiful piece of jewelry here or their. Heirloom quality...not at the lower prices. Fun jewelry, a step above costume jewelry...sure no problem....anything else..Do your home work. Buyer beware. They do bring gem stone jewelry to you at an affordable price....as long as you arent looking for a piece for speculation. The hosts...well..they are what they are. Seems like they are mostly local girls. Havent been out in the world much..for the most part. I love the way they say "Jewelry" and their "mathmatical calculations" are worth waiting for! They are a hoot! One or two are just mean and nasty people..who beat their co host to death if that poor person dare to try ot get a word in edge wise(Nikki) (Angie)Didnt anyone ever tell her (and others) it is rude to talk over someone. Both of these ladies have a way to go in this world..in my opinion...before they are to be considered as a "good person". Someone needs to take a chill pill(Tamara) although I still love her when she is calm. Dawn seems to have given up on the show. And I wonder why. Cheryl is still the most interesting and funny ...but maybe shouldnt believe all the email appraisals folks send her.Cheryl, people are lying like dogs to ya,girl! Sharon..well..now she is the most interesting of all the hosts. At least she knows about what is good jewelry and what isnt. And she will flat says so. I know she gives the value of jewelry based on the "high end" designer stores...but that is interesting info to me. I dont leave her show and run to Wal mart and expect to find the same jewelry prices or appraisals. And she dresses nice....to boot. Jerry and Tommy are acting like weenies lately. Scott and Jennifer are a hoot, I dont care if they show jewelry or not...they are funny! And Jennifer is a perfect straight woman to Scott's comedy antics. And Robert...jhezze! I'd hate to have to deal with his arrogance on a daily basis. Okay...so some of these people are okay. Some are doing their job well and come across as decent people. Some inflate and berate and definitely irritate. Who cares. I know better than to believe all that is said. I do make my own decisions on what is "a good deal" and what isnt. And I still say... I can find a bargain on this site. I still say they have the best customer service. I do return a lot of things...but the things I keep are of exceptional quality. I just have to shop hard. If i get a letter complaining of my high return rate...(as one review stated had happened to him) then I will write and update my opinion of them. For if they try to force you into keeping a crappy product then they are treading on illegal waters and i will call them on it. So to sum it up. The parcels are back to "sucking the big one". I probably wont buy them ever again. The gem stones are "buyer beware" and plan to send them back if not as advertised or of the quality they say they are. Coupons are good. On jewelry..but have not seemed to aid in the receipt of quality stones. Good stones can be found...but a lot of searching goes into finding them. Something stinks in the core of the show...and the smell is driving down the quality and the enthusiasm of their best host and hstess. Just use caution as you would with any purchase. demand that they come across with the quality they state they are providing. And Istill say..they need to look closely at the people that pull the orders. I think that is where alot of their problems lie. I think these folks just dont give a crap. I think they are so overloaded with orders that they just pull anything and throw it in a bag. I dont think they do any sort of quality control. And if you notice...the same person that is suppose to "inspect the order"...well..it seems to be the same two or three people all the time that is listed. I can look at the inspectors name and tell you if the shipment will be crap or not...just by the person that inspected it. So maybe they need to look into the insector/shipper staff. Dont give up on this company...just be a wary shopper.

I have read alot of the reviews about JTV and I have to agree with the fact that the company has increased their prices on items but that's because everything else is going upwards in price! GOLD,gas, utilities, etc. I think they are keeping to there motto "making jewelry and gemstones AFFORDABLE to everyone". The jewelry has as I have seen since May 06 has gone up in price, it still is less expensive than their competitors Believe Me!!The fact that you can return an item makes it easier to purchase something you are considering. If you are not satified with an item you can return it no hassle, no questions asked! The variety of jewelry is great and the gold prices can't be beat I myself make alot of pieces( earrings and pendants) with castings they sell I think this is the best feature that JTV has. Thank You JTV!!!!!!!

I like watching jtv because I believe these people are phony. If they have to talk too much about an item to sell it, then you should beware. I have watched the program and after listening to them talk too much I decided I will not ever make a purchase. Sometimes I feel like I'm watching Jerry Springer show.

Ms Bessie in North Carolina..... Dream on Miss Bessie....wonderland is just over the hill..... Blah,blah,blah...everyone else is just stupid...blah blah blah...only you know all about it all.....blah blah blah... JTV HAS some MAJOR problems. These folks have run into many of these MAJOR problems. I appreciate the "heads up" they give us all. Hopefully, I can avoid those same pitfalls that they have described in this forum. Miss Bessie,I also know about Gem stones. I also have a business. I also evaluate jewelry for others. I also say a lot of the JTV products are CRAPPY. I CAN find a good buy. But I hunt for it. And I have to hunt hard..... I have to send things back. I can imagine an untrained person has one heck of a time finding a decent item. Especially if they are relying primarily on the info the hosts present. Yes, they do use a 33% magnification of the screen. This is to make the product easier tp see..not to deceive folks on the size. But many folks dont seem to know to allow for this magnification..or ppreciate it. The show hosts finger nail compared to the size of the item gives some referrence as to true size. But ..if you dont know to do this...you can make an honest mistake in thinking the item is larger than it really is. HONEST mistakes are okay to make. They are unintentional. They should be able to be corrected. JTV says they can correct these mistakes by accepting returns.."without question or hassel". I think they should follow through. After all...they repeat this promise over and over and over. I like to think that JTV is honest in their descriptions of the item. I have a tendancy to ignor their irresponsible chatter on the valuation of the item. They may speak in all honesty...as far as their knowledge goes....But....they are selling you on a product. It's their job. All salesmen make the product look as necessary and valuable as it takes to get you to buy it. Dont blame them for doing a good sales job. Blame them for not using complete honesty in their sales job. Valuation of the item should be done by an independant and true professional. And....if I were to ever have to have an item appraised....I would not take it to a friend. I would want an honest and objective appraisal. Not a "friend appraisal." There is a difference and that you should take note. So....are you really so sure you got a "good deal?" You may never really know the truth. The value of jewelry is in the eye of the beholder. I hope you see ,all that you ever buy ,as priceless. I have made a lot of money because of JTV. My retirement account has gotten quiet fat because of JTV. But....I still read the words from the folks on this page. I still watch andl listen and stay wary. I dont want JTV to get hauled into court. I dont want them to shut down. I do think they need to get their stuff together. They need a major shake up...an over haul. A "Come to Jesus meeting." I want an honest description of a product. I want the Hosts to stop advertising services that the customer service center isnt ready to back. I want all JTV Hostess to learn how to MULTIPLY correctly!!!(with or without a calculator.) I want all JTV Hostess who cant pronounce the word "JEWELRY"... to learn the proper way to pronounce "JEWELRY" and stop saying "JEW REE" Yes, whine whine whine...I whine because I want all of JTV to be as honest as they profess themselves to be. I want them to show me they are the best in the business..as they say they are. I hope all who watch JTV continue to whine whine whine.... Hmmmm.... I think most of us wouldnt call bringing these problem to attention of potential customers , as whining. I think information and knowledge makes us more alert and savvy shoppers. Just think...if folks knew your doctor was having a very high rate of negative outcomes...and someone took the time to tell you...would you still say "whine whine whine"...and march on into the Operating Room with him as your doctor. Nah......you would probably read all of the info presented by the "whiners" and perhaps make a wiser choice because of it. Same thing...different product. Think about it...would you really want to silence the folks with guts enough to stand up and speak out? Nahhhh......that has already been tried in this world. Many times...many places. And it never has worked out well for anyone involved. So...you have a friend that is a Gemologist....well as MY aunt ,in North Carolina taught me to say,..."Isn't that nice" Have a good one.

I have to say that I have been shopping jtv for 3 years now, and absolutely LOVE THEIR PRODUCTS. In fact, in the few instances where we have received wrong or damaged goods, you simply call customer service, and they will replace your item and tell you to keep the wrong or damaged item!! Their customer service dept is the BEST in this ver computerized world...they have REAL people on the phones who could not be nicer, and take care of any problems!!!I do, however, have to agree that the show hosts leave alot to be desired!!! they chat too much....and take way too long to get to the real price. DON'T YOU PEOPLE AT JTV UNDERSTAND THAT WE JUST WANT TO KNOW THE PRICE? Stop being so dramatic!!!!! The saving grace is you changed to a toll-free phone number...now as soon as i see something i may want, I just mute the tv and call the phone number to ask the price!!!!!! Finally, I re-sell about 70% of what I buy on JTV at a HANDSOME profit!!! and, my wife has never owned such beautiful, REAL JEWELRY!!!! for you doubters out there, take something to be appraised...you will be pleasantly surprised!!!!!

I CANNOT STAND TAMARA!!!! she needs to go! She is so not professional..how can they let her be on TV? and Nikki...has to hog the show when she works with another host side by side..what is her problem? Does she get less of a paycheck if she doesn't use her quota of words for that show? LOL For crying out loud let the other hosts you work with talk more! And when u are showing the turn tables ..how is one supposed to see for example a pair of earrings stuck in the back behind something else?? And why don't these hosts model the jewelry? Are they maybe hiding the fact some of it is so small and if they model it it will show its true size? If JTV would be more professional it would keep alot more viewers and probably make a lot more sales! Get rid of the pricing games, the annoying LOUD hosts, and the babbling on and on.

Regular JTV Customer
Reviewer : Stacy (Smithville, TX)
I've been a customer from 2000, when I found them on accident during an insomnia blitz. Because of their prices I was able to restart my jewelry business. I'm not GIA certifed yet...but everything I've gotten from them has been good or higher in quality. I've not had to do any returns, and the couple of small mixups have been handled promptly and professionally. I've been able to sell a minimum of 3 stones from a 100 ctw parcel that covered the costs of the parcel and left my customers very happy. I've been able to make gifts and such to please my friends and family. I've never had any problems even remotely close to what I've seen described here (I do get the occasional chipped stone in a parcel, but if you know anything about gemstones you know that WILL happen with abrading etc). Even with the lower end pieces I've been really pleased. I've seen some pieces at JTV...the EXACT same pieces at walmart, sears, jcpenney, etc sell for a lot LESS at JTV, even when you factor in shipping. I've gotten pieces and gemstones I've not been able to get even with the contacts I've got through them...and they do state more accurately which is created, treaded or natural then the other retail stores I mentioned above. In fact, I've seen some of those stores just recently start adding labels in regards to being created...but not all of them do. I've never gotten anything created or synthetic in the parcels I've bought. It is good sense that you practice buyer beware no matter where you shop. But I do have to agree that some of the show hosts are annoying. Everyone has their opinions and own experiences...do your homework and come to your own conclusions. I am still a very satisfied and happy customer and will continue to recommend them.

I've been purchasing for 2 mths or so. I also watch with the mute button on and the refresh button ready to display final price on item. I was lucky with one parcel - found a 2.65 pear shape Tanzanite - gem quality color. Next parcel was full of chipped, windowed, tiny stones and washed out colors. So I started to buy the expensive stones like Green Lab and Tanzanite separately and I end up with worse stones. No tertiary color, no color shifting or fire within the stones. Also need to find out about getting coupons that people refer to so I can try to make higher end purchases to determine where the "worth" really may lie.

Disappointed
Reviewer : Cheryl (Bowie, MD)
I am a LONG time JTV customer who has to agree with some of the others - the prices have gone up and the quality has gone way down. Every single piece of jewelry containing a diamond that I have ordered this year I have sent back. The stones have been visibly fractured, cracked, scratched. The rings that used to be great buys now contain gold so thin you could cut yourself on it. The very first piece I bought was a $179 sapphire that appraised for $2,000. I wouldn't even attempt to take a piece to the appraiser now. To add insult to injury -the hosts have gone over the edge. The only good thing I can still say about JTV is ... if you watch certain gemstone hosts you learn a ton. Otherwise, I've switched channels.

purchasing power
Reviewer : Katherine (San Martin, CA)
I value the reviews of individuals that have objective, constructive feedback regarding a vendor, store, etc, that they have purchased from...I try to use my experience and knowledge coupled with input from others to purchase. I do not understand the personal attacks on the hosts...any of you have probably watched other shopping networks and experienced the same - some people are annoying some aren't - simple as that...same as the reviews. Additionally, JT is not the only vendor that will remove a customer who complains and returns volumes of purchases with scathing remarks. Rather than complain, do some research a carat can vary from gem to gem, weight, cut, etc. Most shows magnify the size ...which I appreciate expecially so I can have a better idea of the quality and cut. Ask the host what cut, what clarity, etc., the stone is. They will answer if it is appraised or if they know. If they don't know - it's a toss up - no great knowledge to figure that one out. I do my homework - the hosts are not your personal shoppers. Chill out, smile and remember to be thankful for our blessings. Like one person said, if it is so bad, turn the channel. I appreciate constructive feedback not berating or run-on sentences that repeat the same scathing remarks. Truly hope you all the best of holidays and upcoming years..

what's happening?
Reviewer : K (Houston, TX)
I looked into this company by buying a high end diamond as my first purchase since all of the "sparkle" on the tray. That was over a year and a half ago. Last Thanksgiving before Christmas something started happening. I had excellant quality in everything and nothing returned. All of a sudden I started receiving packages with nothing in them. That matter was quickly taken care of by customer service and also got 25% coupons for each item not received. Then usually bought high end things and decided to try the lower end and that's what another person said in this review that you have to shop carefully. Lately I got a twilight topaz ring that the quality is back and it was $99 and well worth the price and the stones were breathtaking. The diamond buying is where you really need to watch with how cloudy they are and they are nothing like the ones I bought last year. Prices are going up and quality has gone down drastically and right now I am not buying. Showhosts are a scream lately and I agree with others that Tamera needs to go as her voice reminds me of fingers run on a chalkboard and several others bother me, but I just down the volume and watch the NonSparkle jewelry taking place in diamonds with accents which is not worth buying unless you want a ring with good stone only for the value. When I buy a ring I usually want good quality with diamonds and a stone and would rather take more dollars out of my pocket for a "better" quality item that sparkles. Needless to say before this change happened I have truly enjoyed being in the store and someone remarking about the ring on my hand and asking where I got it and they know nothing of JTV.

I agree with most of what has been posted in regards to the "hosts" if that is the poorly assigned title that has been given to these sales people. A "host" should be gracious and kind towards others, unlike the horrible display of poor taste dress parade, intelligence insulting, disgusting drawling, yelling for no good reason, obviously either overpaid or just there for the employees discount idiots who fill the chairs in designated time slots. I wrote to the company itself to suggest improvement of their coice of employees they put on the air.Better venting has been accomplished here. The most rewarding thing for me is that I have not been able to have any volume whatsover of this channel on any of my televisions for the past few weeks and it has made watching the show far more satisfying! Woohoo for that glitch!!! Quality is inconsistent at best, but I like the website and the customer service is pretty good overall.

JTV Review
Reviewer : Heidi (Warwick, NY)
Like most people, I've had both good experiences and also been disappointed at times. I have probably kept 90% of my purchases and of those items many have appraised for much more than I paid for them. On the subject of the show hosts.....don't believe everything they tell you. Especially the gemstone hosts. it seems that whenever they want to push a particular stone they tell us that the stones are rare or the mines are closing. These include Tanzanite, Hessionite garnet, Ametrine,to name a few. If there are any gemologists out there, I would like to hear the real story about some of these gems.

Overall
Reviewer : D T (Houston, TX)
For some of the critics... The products are shown on models fingers that are probably a size 5.5 to 6 (or less) making the stones appear large. Keep in mind the MM size as you watch. As a rule, I don't buy assembled products such as rings or pendants because I prefer the stone to speak for itself and not be distracted by diamonds or other non-complimentary stones. I have found treasures in the "spice" parcels but have also received stones that were not so appealing. If you go to their website you you'll get the bottom dollar without the price games I appreciate the offering of non-traditional gems. It makes for great conversation

Hosts need to grow up!
Reviewer : bobbie (hamptonville, NC)
I have been a JTV customer for the past three years and have purchased many lovely jewelry items, particularly the rings. I agree with many of the other reviews that most of the rings, etc. that sell for OVER $300 are usually worth the money; however, if you select from the $100 or below items or turntables, you most definitely get what you pay for; not much! I also don't purchase the gem parcels, after my two initial attempts rendered chipped, cloudy, tiny stones that were not worth making into jewelry. We won't even discuss the diamonds I've ordered in the early months of shopping; now I only shop for diamonds on DSN or Shop NBC, but I will occasionally buy a gemstone ring or a gold items from JTV. Last, but not least, Please allow me to add to the parade of petitioners who request that the show hosts conduct themselves with maturity and a little professionalism. The price games, the "surprise" over pricing and the dwindling quantities that suddenly reappear in the next show create an atmosphere of distrust for the most loyal of customers. Colleen Lopez is indeed a great example of a delightful show host and could definitely be used to demonstrate how a great show host handles his or her air time. I don't mind some of the host's little homespun stories, but it is annoying when Dawn "drops names" she knows constantly (okay, we know who your sister is already); Sharon consistently says she is buying every high-end item herself (well, we can see from your beautiful clothing and jewelry, that you can certainly afford it, but you don't have to rub it in); Wendy, please stop boring us with your plaintive comments about passing every single tanzanite or valuable down to your daughter on her wedding day or whining on and on that "operators are standing by," as if we are on an Oral Roberts telethon; Mandy, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but please stop drawling out the word, "dooollllars;" Nikki and Misty, it's great you are best friends, but please stop doing the Oprah and Gayle dog and pony show (no wonder they separated you, we don't get the private jokes); Tamara, please get the stars out of your eyes, since Sharon treats you like the "adoring little fan" that begs for her attention; Angela, I can tell you have had a hard time as a divorced (single) mother, but I worked three jobs for eight years to raise my son alone, and you can still make it, girlfriend! AND find a good husband or companion if you believe...As far as the rest of the female staff, Cheryl is the most knowledgeable of them all. The males, such as Scott(I thought he was going to wet his pants over those darned bixbites or whatever those red emeralds are called) and Robert (who still seems to live in his memories of entertaining on "The Love Boat." Anyway, I enjoyed venting my few complaints as well, and plan to continue to shop with JTV, albeit as an informed and somewhat wary customer. So far, customer service has been fair with me and I do appreciate being able to talk with a live phone rep when I call to place an order.God bless you guys and gals and Happy Holidays to you all; your customers just want better quality at the old prices and show hosts that finally grow up! Thanks, Bobbie

CONFLICTED ABOUT JTV
Reviewer : Judith (Rochester, VT)
I just finished reading all the reviews. I have been watching JTV since it was ACN. I have purchased some very nice pieces (over $500). However, they dumped me a couple of years ago--wouldn't let me buy any more since I had a "too high rate of return." However, I'm in another state now so my phone number does not set off any more alarms. I just bought a $1,000 diamond bracelet that was on sale + I had a 20% discount coupon. Don't have it yet, but here's hoping that it's going to be good. I agree that some of the hosts are beyond annoying, especially Misty; Bossy bee--och. What's up with Dawn? She looks as if she's on meds most of the time. Have you ever noticed Sharon's jewelry? It is REALLY high end. I trust Cheryl the most because she appears to be knowledgeable about the gemstones that she shows, and does not appear to be in competition with other hosts. Their prices are more than reasonable; most of us who watch cannot afford what's on Shop NBC, and I've got to say that ALL of the hosts on ALL of the tv sites talk way too much and stay on a particular item too long. The worst is when they have call-ins gag! Now to the comment about he southern drawl. Well, honey we can't all be diction majors, although I do wish they would use correct English; i.e., "There IS only 4 pairs left." Okay, I have vented. Will continue to watch JTV until I have my jewelry wardrobe completed.

You get what you pay for....If its to good to be true it usually is. Yeah, I also have to listen with the volume down. Also, they do need to give the host some lessons on how not to act or speak. I really only like Angie, Angela, Sharon (alone) not with Tamera (she drives me out of my mind). Misty is alright, but kinda repeats herself to much. Lets see I would say about half of what I order I keep.. I have gotten alot more conservative as to what I order. Buyers just go on line and do the reseach on line. I also bought a jewelry buying guide which really Helps me know whats good and whats not....Just remember "you get what you pay for"

I shopped quite a bit during this holiday season and have enjoyed all of what I've purchased from JTV. I especially appreciate the unique nature of many jewelry and gift items. While the hosts can be grating on one's nerves, I don't find them to be any more/less so than on other shopping channels. With any TV shopping company, the time spent on products is a bit hard to take when you're busy with work and a family/home. That's the beauty of being able to go online and check out things at your own pace and convenience. The pricing has been good, and I was very enticed by the free shipping offer that went on during late November/early December (2006). I have slowed down considerable since that stopped. Overall, I am more than satisfied with my JTV experience.

JTV
Reviewer : Sheila (Gaylesville, AL)
I have been reading the reviews and decided to do my own. I have been a customer for about 8 years. Jtv has given me the opportunity to own lots of jewelry I would never have been able to afford. Yes they have their flaws, just as any other store, website, or person does. Look over them! I have done my share of homework and overall, you cannot beat their prices or their customer service. I would be careful on their auctions because alot of the items sell at auction for more than JTV sells them for. Not JTV's fault but bidders. Also some of the reviews I read that were negative and griping about the show host were overall misspelled and sounded more stupid than any show host I've seen. Yes, I agree they can be annoying, but I personally like most of the host because they tend to be themselves and you feel like you do know them. It's a great place to shop and most of the time you get more than you pay for!

I have been very pleased with my purchases. I look on the web before ordering and even measure how big a ring might be.Customer service is good. Coupons are not always valid and that is upsetting. Hosts are informative but do spend too much time on some items, especially Wendy. I have been pleased and will keep shopping on JTV.

Holiday buys
Reviewer : Donna (Austin, TX)
I bought sooo much stuff for Christmas....some really really exceptional stuff.. Some was really really sucky stuff. The earrings...even the 18K were so thin, I could not give them as gifts....not when I had to face the person ever again. But...I guess if you are operating on a low low budget, they would be better than nothing. Affordable, reasonably nice, for those who can't afford the good stuff. I think that providing a wide range of afforadable jewelry is what JTV tries to do. They try to get a product out for folks that maybe cant afford earrings in the high end ,heavy gold weight range. They often offer the same earring or ring in different weight..and different price points. You can buy what your budget allows, but still get a pretty piece of jewelry. That is why some reviews rave about the products they receive...while other shoppers feel greatly disappointed. Some of us expect high quality items...we want the heavy gold feel, and we will pay the extra it costs to get it.Other shoppers are greatful that they can afford anything offered to them. The light weight gold products give them an opportunity to buy an attractive piece of jewely...light weight...less costly...but respectable for the amount of money paid. Not a collectors item...but a nice gift. That's cool, too. I It's not that they are telling lies..it's just that they don't always mention certain key facts about an item. In order to make the low end purchases seem exciting, they describe them with as much enthusiasm as they describe the high end jewelry. At least the folks that can only afford the low end items FEEL GOOD about their purchase. And that is also very OKAY with me.You SHOULD be able to feel proud of your purchase. JTV folks try to create that excitement...that feeling that you ,as a shopper, have just scooped up a tremendous bargin! JTV is really good at seeing that all budgets can afford a piece of jewelry. They dont just look after the big spenders. I admire their attitude. They look after the needs of ALL customers...not just the high spenders. There is just something good about a company that shows that much respect for all of their customers...no matter how big or small. Now,for those of us that want the high end stuff. We have to watch, and be a bit more careful. They(JTV) expects that of us. They have educated us to the point that we have the knowledge to make a wise choice. They(JTV) expect us to use this knowledge. Nothing wrong with that, either. They are a fair company. They have a phlosophy that is based on the fact that they feel all people deserve to be treated with respect. They didnt tell me this, I didnt read it anywhere...I have just watched and seen it in action. Now...for the good stuff... They code their stones. The number will tell you the size, and then the rating. Ex ABC080502A ..would be an 8X5 stone rated 2a. Compare this number with the highest price stones on that page.and you will find that, for example, 1A is the highest priced stone, and also the most desirable...so 2A would be one level down from the best they have to offer. It takes a little time to filter through their ratings but the results are that you receive quality stones, quality color. Coupons can be used only once...per order...but can sometimes be used repeatedly. Other times..they dont work at all. Call customer service, they will fix it for you if it doesnt work.. I receive coupons from them via mail. But just type in JTV.com coupons and you will pull up many coupon sites. This month's coupon number for 10 % off is DISCJAAF10. If you want free shipping,DISCJAAFS. It is good until the 15th.of Jan. Feb. coupons number is DISCJNAF15 for 15% off DISCJAAF10 for 10 % off. These last two start Feb. 1st. I still say you can find deals galore...but you have to search them out and be willing to spend some money. $100.00-$400.00 can bring you mega returns. I have made more money,in the last two years, from JTV jewelry resales, than I have made in the last 20 years in combined profits of both retirement and investments. No,I dont advise you to give up retirement or stock purchases and go into the jewelry business...but my hobby has turned a nice profit. I stil am a big fan of JTV. Just use some sense...and shop hard and carefully. The more I deal with them...the more I learn, the better my relationship is with them...and this results in less returns.

JTV is great! I've purchased thousands of dollars worth of jewlery from them. There return policy is truely no questions asked. The jewlery holds up to everyday wear and is worth many times what you will pay for it.

FOLLOWUP REVIEW
Reviewer : Judith (Rochester, VT)
I posted earlier that I was waiting for a diamond bracelet. I received it, and it is absolutely beautiful. Conversely, I purchased a loose tanzanite for $300,and it was a big disappointment. I'm wondering whether the people who ship the gems just rech into the barrel and grab any stone. Anyway, I'm staying away from the tanzy. I think unless you can afford to set down your satchel for a gemmy gem, the quality is not going to be there. Still watch every day, though because I think they do have some very good values.

Love the jewelry. Love the shipping. Love customer service. Love the operators. HATE the obnoxious hosts! Can only watch with the sound muted. Christine in PA, after you have watched for as long as some of us have I think your tune will change. The repetition, the calling for the price, the tired and phoney stories told over and over. Give it time honey, you will hate them too. Had time to shop the other day and, gag, Shaorn and Tamara were hosting. Needless to say, I didn't watch. I can't stand to watch those twits/morons/hags even WITH the sound muted! I hate the price games. Hate how they continuously tap, jab and poke the item they are showing--no wonder the stones fall out on some items... I really wish they would get new hots. I would like to know that when I turn on the tv I will see a pleasant, mature, honest host. That's just not possible at the present time. I like Coleen Lopez too. Smart, honest and doesn't scream. Why do the jtv hosts stay on an item sooooo long? Isn't time money, especially on television? Show more and we'll buy more? Right? I want to start shopping with them again.

JTV reviews
Reviewer : Jennifer (Harper, NC)
I have read everyone's reviews and appreciate all that has been said. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, just like God entitled us all to an "a---" well you get the picture. I am a new customer. I bought a diamond bracelet and a pair of princess cut diamond ear rings, both described as top quality. The bracelet was a waste of good gold. The gold part of the bracelet was beautiful, but the diamonds looked like rocks/gravel picked up out of a driveway somewhere in Hickville TN. They were chipped, chunked, and had black marks on them and they looked more like opals than diamonds they were so milky. The earrings...well first I recieved an empty box!!! But they were really quick to resend the order and they did not question my honesty, which I feared, being a new customer and all. After that I opened all of my packages in front of the mailman just in case. And I have recieved one more empty box since then, a gem parcel, which I finally received and I will not be buying anymore loose stones to say the least. I kept the parcel only for my son's sake who was really excited about learning about new gems, so it is a good "starter kit" for him. However, it was an expensive one!!!I bought during a free shipping time so my shipping charges were returned, on returned items...I simply mailed a copy of the shipping receipt to a separate address which was given to me by customer service. I really enjoyed reading "D's" review from TX...this seems to be the most intelligent and thought out review posted, eventhough there are some insults included. But I have to agree with everyone about Tamara. My daughter sometimes watches JTV with me, she's 4...When Tamara starts getting worked up, I usually mute...but my daughter is so funny...she says, "Mommy, she's doing it again...she's getting excited over whatever!!!" She has also called her a squelling pig, which I of course told her was not a nice thing to say, and then went to the other room to laugh, because I would rather rake my own fingernails down a chalkboard than to hear her get going...by the way, just because someone has a southern accent does not mean that they are not educated, and that they are ignorant, some of these reviews have made comments about the southern dialect and "made fun" I am all for a good joke, but it is hard to make an intelligent statement while at the same time trying to insult a whole group of people about the way they talk. I read a couple of reviews that were insulting to southern people in general. I am from North Carolina and have a southern accent, but I also hold a BA and a BS degree, recieved both at the top of my class and I am working on my MA. Both of my children also speak with a southern accent because this is what they hear in their daily lives at home and school, however, I have been told that both of my children have the most vast vocabulary for their age than most children have. My four year old is equipped with a vocabulary that is better than most middle school students, that I teach, and she has not yet entered school, so she definitely got it at home. And yes there are ignorant people here in the south too, but there are ignorant people everywhere, and I have met a lot of them in my travels everywhere...Most ignorant people base their assessment of people only on something they can see or hear right off the bat without first getting to know someone. Dialect is simply based on where you are raised and something that cannot be helped, to the person who commented on this, you probably would sound like a surfer pot head to me, because everyone I have met from where you are from has been young and in the military, we live near a military base and they all talk like their brains are baked. I also went to school with a few friends from your area and they also sounded this way...Does this mean that everyone from your area is baked??? My point is that there are idiots everywhere and they aren't necesarily called "maw and paw" and people who talk this way are not "all idiots" either!!! As for JTV, they air in Tennessee and the dialect of the area is distinct. They don't have to go anywhere special to find these people, they all talk that way, and it doesn't make them ignorant. The yelling and screaming and price games and lying does!!! Thanks to all for posting your opinions and for allowing me to post mine!

JTV- Good and Bad
Reviewer : Anna (Poughkeepsie, NY)
I have purchased many beautiful rings from JTV and been, overall, very happy. A few problems: their pendants usually have very small bales and do not fit on anything but the most flimsy and cheap chains. Ring sizing: since I need a 5.5 ring, I ahve tried to buy a 6, get it home and inspect it and return it to be sized. (Once it is sized it is not returnable)- Well, this has worked a few times, but several times this was a disaster- the ring clearly marked to be sized was processed as a return. By the time they notified me it was returned, the item was out of stock and I was out of luck. They have very few choices in the 5.5 size range and I will not buy a larger size and have them size it before I get to see the ring- again, not returnable once it is sized. Another issue we have had was that my husband made an online purchase and must have entered his credit card incorrectly. Instead of notifying him immediately by phone or email, they just cacelled the order entirely. We did not find this out until about 10 days later wehn we were checking to see why we had not received the ring. There is no excuse for this mishaps! As far as the hosts go, I generally have enjoyed them. My cable system has stopped showing JTV and now I can only do online shopping. But again, their lack of choices in rings that come in 5.5 have dramatically reduced the number of purchases I have made in the last 3 months. Ring sizing sight unseen, is not for me due to their return policy.

Workmanship
Reviewer : Christie (Harrisburg, PA)
I have been with JTV since their ACH days and have purhased quite a few pieces over the years. However, they need to exam their practices and stand behind the jewelry that they sell. It is my impression that they are more interested in moving the product than keeping the customers happy. And maybe that is their intent because of the consistent "new customer registration" deals they offer on a consistent basis. Maybe they need new customers because they keep loosing customers due to the increasing number of poor quality pieces that they sell. At least that has been my experience recently. I have purhased several pieces over the past 10 years. However, I have been disappointed with their ability to service the customer after the sale. I have had several pieces loose their stones. Apparently these stones must have been glued in. Ofcourse the 30 day return policy had expired therefore, I had to pay to have the diamonds replaced. The one ring had the same diamond replaced twice. I gave up when it fell out the third time. JTV did nothing. I recently purchased an alexandrite ring and once again one of the stones fell out. I called customer service and was told that the 30 day had expired by 1 month, therefore I had to pay to have the stone replaced. I purchased a 3 stone diamond ring and one of the stones fell out. Thank god we found the diamond. However, once again JTV did not stand behind the ring. I took it to a local jeweler and he noted that the prong was not large enough to hold the diamond that is why it fell out. QVC and ShopNBC may charge more but you know that if you problems with a product they stand behind it!

JTV Loose Gemstones
Reviewer : Sister Elias Freeman (Woodbridge, NJ)
In order to buy gemstones from JTV, you need to be fairly knowlegeable about gemstones before you begin, and you need to have something that measures in millimeters, so you can decide for yourself if a stone is a suitable size. It also helps to be able to think outside the box, critically and dispassionately, and not let yourself ride the wave with the show host. If you want to buy gemstones, you can't do better than when Cheryl is hosting. She really does know her stuff.ost of the other first chair gemstone hosts are still working on their certification as gemologists, but Cheryl already has her ducks lined up. She gets genuinely enthusiastic in an intelligent way, and if she mentions her cats one time too often, it's OK by me. Scott is also a good and knowlegeable host, although he gets way too wordy. But at least he and the other men no longer show up for their shows wearing t-shirts and shorts! I've rarely bought jewelry, except as an occasional gift, but I've bought substantial numbers of parcels and bid on the auctions. I've had some problems, but I've also gotten some phenomenal deals. If you are willing to do a little homework, you can often make nice jewelry yourself by buying their snap-tite mounts and the size gems you need. Snapping them in is a cinch, and the mounts really do hold tight if you snap the gems in correctly. I would advise newbies to avoid the auctions. JTV is unique in the world of auctions in that the information it offers before you bid is almost nonexistent. Nothing about clarity or luster is ever said. Even eBay sellers offer more info. But if you DO know what you're doing, you can get great deals, especially if you use the available coupons for free shipping. JTV is like other companies that have a great idea, and then grow too fast to keep up with the demand. When I first shopped with them two years ago, their website was a joke. They once had an online game; by playing it you could win discounts off your next order. The first day I tried and I got a 5% discount, so I bought something. To my shock, the computer registered a 50% discount instead. I already had the order placed by the time I realized their computer error, so I called them. They were horrified at what might have happened, but they were so grateful to ME that they offered me a 50% discount on my next order as a way of thanking me. Actually, if I have a complaint about JTV, it's that their hosts are all stamped with the same cookie cutter--white, conservative, and Protestant ;-). There's no variety and no people of color. I find this boring, among the kindest words I could use. Anyway, buy with discernment. This is a company that is genuinely trying to do its best by its customers, but doesn't yet have their niche marketing down pat. And if you need to return something, BE PLEASANT. The world is too cruel these days to make it harder for anyone.

Web Site Down Again
Reviewer : Joy (Lancaster, PA)
I was introduced to JTV in Spring 2006. Since then I watched their shows and carefully reviewed their web site daily. I just sent back over $2,000 worth of jewelry and gems due to the fact that all were damaged, very, very poor quality (made in China-tag attached), a 9X7 Green Lab. was actually a 6.11X5.94 and rather dull. MAKE SURE YOU AT LEAST HAVE YOUR GEMS WEIGHED AND MEASURED BY A GEMOLOGIST!!! The empty boxes and most of all their web site had consistently gone down on the afternoon/evenings of the FREE SHIPPING days, like now 2/19/2007. I called because I have a 20% coupon (DISC9010) and they were sorry about the website but would not take the coupon because it was for online only. Their site explains that if you cant order online due to technical problems on JTV's end, customer service will honor all coupons, etc. Not so. Oh, I have totally given up watching JTV. Cant stand the fraudulant comments and leading lies. If you truly believe the hosts, shame on you! In less than one year their quality has deteriated and their prices have jumped too high to be a "good deal" I am still waiting for a pair of earring from the Dec 2006 10% off Gold sale. I was charged and I called them and was sent a form to complete and return. All my followup has fallen on deaf ears. I would fire the entire lot of employees!

I first have to say I found jewelry tv while i was home during maternity leave back then I loved watching the show It was about the only thing I looked at. but now I can't stand them not even for five minutes,. the hosts are way annoying and take too long to tell the price. I bought a couple of pieces from them one was an eternity ring which kept losing the stones and i kept returning it to get fixed eventually i gave up and got a refund. I also bought a .50 diamond studs which were lack luster. bought my mom a 1.5 ctw diamond heart pendant but the chain kept getting tangled and she doesnt wear it for fear the stones will drop out. i bought myself 2 diamond rings but i thought they would have been brighter. my biggest gripe however was a 1. ctw diamond bracelet i bougth for myself i tried to enjoy by wearing it and sadly its no more apparently the clasp broke and it fell somewhere its now lost and im very upset. and will heed my husbands warning about thier stuff sounding too good to be true. most of their pieces i ordered were never as fabulous as potrayed but i stayed true to them since i figured i was paying for what i got i was considereing buying one of their high end diamond rings but after reading these reviews iv decided to just wait ans save up some more money and treat my self to something from one of the high end stores and get it insured nomore looking for deals on dimonds for me

For those that say what is shown on tv is big and what they get is small, try looking at the hands of the hosts and you will see the magnification, no problem at all. What I have gotten over the years has been nice, but I stopped with the parcels, too many too small for anything stones. As far as hosts, when Robert is on, I turn the tv off, cannot stand the way he over pronounces all, even wrote to JTV about this a couple of times.I will never be a customer when Robert is hosting. Misty is too hard sell and predictable as well.

I have been a JTV since X-mas, 2003, and loved MOST of everything I bought before. Especially 2 good quality high luster strands of gradually big size (14mm) southsea and 13&1/2mm black tahitian pearl necklaces that I bought with "steal" deal couple years ago, and still love them! But now JTV has hardly any of these pearls, so I am glad I got them when I could with the prices I paid. And what I enjoyed most was the prices of the jewelry I bought, so much that without then ACN, I don't think I couldn't possibly afford these beautiful jewelry. I can honestly say I am a pretty good customer of JTV, so good that with all the $ I spent on the jewelry from JTV so far, I could purchase a small house! However, I realize within the last year and a half or so, I am totally lost interest of watching JTV, maybe b/c all the excitement of good deals were worn off, and I am more noticing of the loud voices of some your hosts, and really got annoyed by them too. I wholeheartedly agree with ALL complaints of MOST customers about the loud hosts who are annoying the customer a great deal with their voices. (It isn't as enjoyable to have the TV on MUTE while you are watching it). However, I believe it is a easy solution to fix really by having the JTV management just asking the hosts to keep their voices down a bit like QVC and shopNBC host, but so far I don't understand why JTV did nothing to fix the problem to make it more enjoyable for their customers to watch and purchase. Do you realize it seems so strange that most of customers complained was about most hosts except a few like Scott and Jennifer. Why is that? B/c they are the calm and pleasant ones!!! And I suggest that other LOUD hosts should be at least as calm as them to keep the unhappy and annointed customers like us happy in order for us to continue to shop with JTV! I also agree that the quality of the jewelry is NOT as good as it used to be either, cheaper made by using mostly 10kt gold and cheaper stones used. All these problems that I mentioned above is a vital factor for us as JTV jewelry lovers, so I hope that JTV management will take a SERIOUS notice of it, and willing to make some changes to make their company succeed in the future. B/c they DO NEED their customers TO SUCCCEED. Otherwise their customers will loss interest like myself included, so we are not watching as often and purchasing as much. I also think there is a logic why JTV slowly shows the bottom price, b/c if the host shows the bottom price right at once, then every customer will rush to get the product, the phone line will be jamed up and noone can get through. And by doing what they are doing to keep the even steady flow of the phone line. If you want to know the bottom price desperately, then I suggest that you go on the website to check it. In short I am no longer a faithful JTV customer as I used to be, mainly b/c of the loud hosts and poorer quality jewelry. Thank you for letting me share my thoughts with you! Kim

JTV Auctions
Reviewer : Greg (Auburn, WA)
STAY AWAY FROM THE GEMSTONE AUCTIONS! The main reason they are willing to sell the auction gemstones for so much less is that many of the gemstones have quality issues (chipped, scratched, poor cut or color, etc.). Most of the time, the damage is not visible in the picture of the item, and they refuse to include the information about the quality problem in the description of the item. I paid over $500 for two gemstones recently and both are damaged and worth little or nothing. They have a no return policy for auction items. For several months, I have been attempting to get management to make some much needed changes with the gemstone auctions and to provide a color and/or clarity grading on the gemstones they are selling in the other area or their site. JTV appears to be content with things the way they are. THERE ARE MANY BETTER PLACES TO PURCHASE GEMSTONES!

JTV Rocks!!
Reviewer : Susan (Douglasville, GA)
I have watched JTV since it was ACN and only had 1 host that sat at a table. Her name was Caroline and she was wonderful. This company has grown leaps and bounds and I am very proud of them. I shop there all the time and I have shopped other places. All these people complain about quality being bad and host getting on their nerves, well, don't watch if you don't like them. I have bought many pieces over the years and loved most but have had to send a few back. If I ever have a problem I always get the problem handled asap. Bill Kunz is a man of his word and these are good people who care about their customers. You can go into a high end store and get a damaged item and have to take it back. My daughter had a 2.50ct solitare diamond in platinum and a diamond wedding band at Jared's and had to take it back 3 times as she lost a diamond shortly after the set was purchased, they fixed it, but it did not match the others. Then a prong broke on her solitare and it took forever to get fixed. So problems are everywhere. It certainly is not wal-mart quality items. People should learn, you get what you pay for. They have high end items and items that we all can afford. We have a choice and I for one am very pleased. I thank you to all the Upper management for being so forthright and honest and I will continue to purchase from JTV for a long, long time.

JTV Is Wonderful!

I have watched for many years and found JTV to be very honest and trustworthy business men and women. If and when a problem arose, Bill Kunz handled it immediately and very professionally. I have seen them grow from 1 salesperson when they were ACN to having over 25 hosts now. I have freedom to watch the shows and see tons of items in all different price points and quality and choose what I want to spend. Of course we all know you can't buy flawless diamonds for pennies on the dollar but they don't say you will. They give you a ton of information about the product. If I don't like a piece, I simply return it, no questions asked. I've seen reviews where they complain about the magnification. They tell you they are magnified and I like to see up close and personal what I am going to buy. They give you the sizes so you can figure that out. I love JTV and I respect their company. Kudos to all there!

Snap-Tite Castings
Reviewer : Shawnascy Chalk (San Diego, CA)
I shop at Jewelry Television (JTV) almost everyday. I love their jewelry and pricing and the quality is there. My only beef, I have been writing since last October that they need more castings. I have over a dozen stones waiting to be set but they no longer carry or haven't re-ordered the castings. I need the 12mm YG Pendant Snap-Tite Cssting. ANY Trillion Casting over 3mm and not the Scroll Castings. While they may look nice, they require a professional to mount (thus spending the money your supposed to save by buying from JTV). Also, many of the castings/settings I have purchased (Ready-made) do not fit the stones they are listed to fit. I have taken ring castings and pendant castings to several jewelers and they all tell me the same thing. While the casting MAY measure 12x10, that is prong to prong in measurement. The bed of the ring or pendant will not accomodate the stone. It is too large to set. I have had to return castings and I lose 10% off the purchase price because by the time I get it back from the round of jeweler's who have tried to set the stone, the 30 days has passed and they are now taking 10% off the original price! As to the other castings/settings needed: More Leverback Earring style snap-fits in the larger sizes. They have only had 4mm for over 6 months. We women wear dangles first and posts in our second hole. I need 8mm & 10mm Round & Trillion. Not only in Leverback but YG or WG snap-fit posts. Larger sized haven't been available since last Fall. I also need a 12mm Round Pendant in YG that I have been waiting for since last October... I know the price of gold has risen but they need a place to put their gemstones. I have written to Customer Care and Customer Service and all the Gemstone Hosts. Nothing has changed. The most frustrating part is that during their show they always tell you to ask your Call Center Representative for Castings for the stone they are selling. AHHH! I want to scream because they don't even know they don't have trillion settings, pretty much at all. Only a few in scroll and under 7mm's. So, apparently they don't read their emails and try to do something about it and I just want to throw my remote at the TV when the two biggest gemstone hosts say this every day. How can they no know that their is a serious issue that needs to be resolved. How can you be the biggest loose gemstone dealers in the World and not have a home for those gemstones??? I have searched the Internet everyday for months and I can't find snap-tite castings for my larger stones. And I am not talking about their 18 x 13 stones bu the stones they sell EVERYDAY, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16mm stones. They go on and on about how big and bold is the hottest style right now but if you buy the stone, you can't wear it! Any help you can give me on your end to making sure the powers that be are made aware that they need more castings and we as customers won't care about the higher gold pricing, because we are saving such much by shoppimg with JTV, right? Stones need a home and we buy the stones to make our own jewelry but over the last 6+ months, that has not happened for me. PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you for your time and assistance and hopefully you can get somewhere on the issue. Sincerely, Miss Chalk

Quality
Reviewer : Jillian (Seattle, WA)
I have shopped with JTV back when they were called ACN. I'm surprised so many of you like then. My first purchase was a diamond pendant, it arrived quickly but the diamonds were grey at best there is more sparkle from a white topaz then these diamonds. Next I ordered a Tsavorite gemstone ring. It also arrived quickly but, the underneath of the ring is completely hollow, barely any gold here and 3 of the gemstones were cracked. Tried ordering a parcel of amethyst gemstones, most are just very very poorly cut, hard to fit them in standard settings many have zoning and most are thick. I let the kids take them to school for a "100" things project. It's exciting but really you would find better quality for your money at an online jewelry store. If you can bend a prong tip with your fingernail - it's poor quality. If the inside of your ring shank is cut out - poor quality - if the diamond is grey - very very poor quality.

Just my Opinion
Reviewer : Donna (Wimauma, FL)
I too, have shopped JTV for a while now. I feel like I have gained alot of knowlege. I never knew there were so many different stones. Enough interst that I will be going on to Gemology school and I'm 57 years old. I like Cheryl, she seems like the girl next door, and appears to have a wealth of knowlege. Shes also been through GIA as well as Scott. I don't believe they have ever promised their viewing audience they would become millionaires. I was under the impression they were bringing affordable gems and jewerly to us that appreciate them. I bought a one carat 5 stone champaigne diamond ring 14k gold, for $299.00 and our small town mom and pop jewerly store appraised it verbally for $1,000.00. I also bought the 1 ct cluster ring, 14k gold past present & future with the gold bars separating the clusters for $399.00 and it appraised for $1,800.00. Our jewerler thought it was beautiful and asked me if it was a gift. I said no I bought it myself, and never tell where I buy. I have gotten a few chipped stones in parcels, but come on...on a percentage basis, most of the stones are beautiful. None of us are perfect, and the hosts that are not my favorite I don't watch. I just go online. Overall, I think JTV has given us all an opportunity to learn and I applaud them for that.

Horrible Hosts on JTV
Reviewer : S. Wisner (Mountain Home, AR)
I do enjoy watching jewelry presentations when they are well done, like the folks on QVC and ShopNBC. The hosts on JTV are the most obnoxious, unprofessional, screaming, game playing, annoying individuals in the business. One would think the president of the company would wise up after hearing from so many people about how rude and overbearing his hosts are and that person would make a change. It has to be losing him business when a viewer is so turned off by the host, they switch channels. Sharon becomes so loud and obnoxious I want to slap duct tape over her mouth. God gives us a break. SHUT the hell up and present the product in a civilized and professional manner.

Definite Surprise in the Package.
Reviewer : Cindy P. (Alexandria, LA)
I recently ordered a packet of loose gemstones, mixed lot. When they arrived, I started going through and when I got down to the smaller stones, I saw a distinct sparkle....not a stone I'd seen before, but one that was changing colors from violet to green dependant upon lighting. Didn't think much of it, about a 1 ct. round, but curiosity and the cat, you know. I took the stone to have it identified at a local GEMOLOGIST equipped jeweler. The gentleman looked at the stone, placed it under the microscope, looked back at me, did a few other tests and finally, with the most incredible look on his face, said "Lady, where'd you get this stone?" I told him and he told me that I had a near perfect NATURAL ALEXANDRITE, almost 1.25 cts, worth in excess of $10,000. He offered to buy it for $7,500 on the spot to make a ring for his wife. I put it back in its envelope and it now resides, with the appraisal, in my safe deposit box. For the price of a small lot of loose stones, I now have a nest egg that's only growing in value and rarity. I know it was a fluke, that stones like this aren't found in all the parcels, but I did find it in mine. So much for YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR line!!! I got much more security and pleasure from the small price I paid. Maybe you'll get lucky as well. Thank you, JTV!

Aweful Customer care
Reviewer : Ann (Chapel Hill, NC)
JTV has some very nice jewelry and good values, but the worst customer care of any buissness ever. If you are happy they are nice. If you simple ask questions about their "process" or concerns about how long things take, they are rude, defensive and condasending. 3 of 4 phone calls asking questions (nicely) were met with curt rudness. I have spent thousands of dallors @ JTV and they are aweful to deal with, but I do love the value. Wish they would work on public relations.

Jewelry Television
Reviewer : Fred Crowe (San Diego, CA)
Jewelr Television is a mied bag, sometimes you'll get a bargain but often you are left holding the bag. I agree with a reviewer about personalities with grating voices as screechy as finger nails on a chalk board. I also agree that, at times, these people are as slimy as snot on a doorknob. But, largely I have been satisfied though customer disservice is rather horrible. And as a patron who spent beaucoup bucks, a sueeky axildoes et oil. We've shopped NBC, QVC and the internet repeatedly, and Jewelry Television is worst of the bunch. The highly vaunted, Scott claims that Tanzanite was so badly misleading that he should be takenout and shot. Not, similarbogus claims about peridot, oh give me a break-mere peridot, being hoarded like theclaim about tanzanite is laughable beyond belief, as are most claims.

Quality Issues
Reviewer : Goldie (Sacramento, CA)
Like some of the other posters, I've received some very nice items, but also some chintzy/poor quality items. I like JTV because of the variety offered and I'm willing to gamble on buying an item because of the price - sometimes I luck out with a good bargain and sometimes I don't. However, I can't stand the trailer park dialects, when words are pronounced in that awful twang, "Dolll-uuuuurrrrz" (dollars) and "Saayyyy-unnntz" (cents) or "naaaannn-ninnnnddddy-naaan" (9.99). I absolutely blow a fuse when they say "ray-ownnnnd". As far as I know, there's only one syllable in round. The customer service folks are very nice though. Thankfully, where those hosts are concerned, there is a mute button!

Dishonesty
Reviewer : Lee (destin, FL)
I have shopping been with JTV for over 4 years now. I took their advice and became educated. What I found out is that disclosure is not always what they claim. Take the dark blue topaz stones. Are they disclosing that they have been buying them against the regulations of the U.S. Nuclear regulatory commission? Do an internet search for irradiated topaz and read the industry articles. Many companies are pulling their blue topaz until they can guarantee they are not radioactive. JTV is still selling theirs. I called customer service to ask if they could guarantee that they had tested their irradiated stones like london blue topaz and morganite that I have purchased from them and assure me they are not radioactive. I got passed to a couple different people, but no, they could not give me that assurance. They do not disclose that do they. Also I frequently am sent the wrong item, an item that is smaller than stated or one with a mistated gram weight or inaccurate discription. I have wasted much in shipping fees. Also please have your higher priced items appraised. They over state the per carat values of many stones. I love the $4,500 price per carat they tout for tanzanite. Good one guys. I wonder how they live with themselves much of the time.

JTV
Reviewer : Gina (Anaheim, CA)
JTV is the BEST!!! You cannot purchase jewelry or gemstones anywhere else for the same prices or quality. Jewelry stores mark their jewelry up so much it is unbelievable. Those so called "chain jewelry stores" (no pun intended) mostly sell lab created gemstones and want an outrageous price for them. I love to go into jewelry stores and pretend I am interested in buying some of their inferior jewelry that costs a fortune. I then show them a ring or pendant I am wearing and ask them how much they thought I paid for it. They are shocked when I tell them it is REAL,and then they ask where I purchased it. When I tell them JTV, they ask me how they can order from JTV too! I have read some of the negative comments and cannot believe it! And... for the gemologist who made negative comments on their diamonds... he apparently never visited their website where if you are really serious about purchasing a good quality diamond for an exceptional price, JTV does list the diamond quality. For example, I wanted a five carat diamond tennis bracelet. I saw one in a jewelry store for $5000 + tax; I loved it so much I almost bought it. It was 14 kt white gold with H-I in color and S1 to S2 in clarity. Okay, it wasn't a VVS; however, it was beautiful. Well, a couple of weeks later, I was searching JTV's website and found an identical bracelet (the color and clarity was listed on the website and was the same as the one in the store). I had a 20% off JTV coupon, and it was free shipping that day. The bracelet cost me $3,000. My husband is not a big jewelry fan, but he told me it looked like ice in the sunshine. I looked at it through a 10X loop; I can't see one inclusion. The diamonds are white, clear, and clean. It is absolutely beautiful; it looks like a sparkling rainbow, and I receive so many compliments on it. I brought it to a jeweler, and he almost fell down when I told how much I paid for it. He said it was an excellent buy!!! I always bost about JTV. Before I discovered JTV, I never thougt it possible that I would be able to own such beautiful REAL jewelry. If you love jewelry that is beautiful and affordable, shop with JTV; you won't regret it. I would also like to mention the knowledge you get about gemstones and jewelry when you watch the show. The show hosts are extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The show hosts are "down to earth" unlike the other shop at home networks. I can't say it enough - watch JTV - it is the best jewelry show there is!!!

half empty or half full?
Reviewer : Vicky Hazard (San Bernardino, CA)
I do believe this world would be a lot better place to live if people would just try to be a little more optimistic about things-such as Jewelry Television. The reviews we read (and write) are only one thing...an opinion. If you think about it, jtv covers alot of territory, and they sell ALOT of jewelry and gemstones. Not to mention how many employees they have. What I'm getting at is that it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to please the number and diversity of people that watch and buy from them. Besides, it seems that the most extreme bad reviews, are from people who only complain about how annoying the hosts are! It is apparent that these people are on complain mode anyway. They are not happy unless they are miserable. I have a suggestion-get out of the house, quit watching so much tv-especially shopping channels-which is probably why you are so angry, not at jtv, but at yourself for spending money you don't have because you don't have a job and you watch tv all day!! So lets blame jewelry television! If you don't like the hosts, don't watch the show. If you don't like the merchandise, then either don't buy any more, or be more open minded and quit expecting "the worst" and you just might find that you actually LIKE what you ordered! I have yet to have any problems with returns or customer service, and I have purchased alot of stuff! If you send it back within the 30 days, no problem. It really shouldn't take more than a day or so to make up your mind about your purchase. Reasonably, you will know as soon as you open your package, right? It isn't Rocket Science people, just a little self-examination of ones life in general. If you are having a bad day, or inadvertently left the tv on jtv when mandy was on and forgot to turn the volume down, then don't open that package!!! WAIT!!! until you have calmed down and had a drink or something. Then when you open it, you will be so pleased because it was just what you expected, (considering the day you purchased it, it was done on-line)! And the birds were singing.....Anger management may be helpful also??? Just don't put too much on it and you won't be so disappointed!

JTV Sometimes good, sometimes not so much...
Reviewer : Pamela Finger (Detroit, MI)
Just a word here of agreement with both sides of the discussion. I have been purchasing items from JTV for a number of years, probably about 8 years or so. I have bought some absolutely FABULOUS items from them but those purchases were about 5 years ago. I was fortunate enough to get a matched set of Columbian emeralds 4.5 carats each shaped in a half moon for $275 for the pair...there is NO WAY I could come anywhere close to that lately. I also purchased a champagne diamond from them listed as a minimum .60 ct stone that ended up actually being 1.37 cttw. I hate to tell you I paid $129 for it and was told I wouldn't be able to get another one like it for less than $1400 and that was two years ago. So yes I agree that lately the "deals" are few and far between, but there are still goodies to be found, especially in the loose stones. You just have to know what you're looking for and always buy three items if you want a matched pair. I still find some of the hosts particularly annoying, but hey, when it gets too much I either turn down the sound or just check out the website! They're still worth checking out...

Tanzanite was a fake!
Reviewer : E. Martin (Fairfifeld, CA)
I paid for a real stone and it appraised as a fake. JTV says it is not their fault because I waited too long to have it appraised. It never occurred to me that I was buying a fake. They won't return my calls.

auction item OCT 07
Reviewer : holly (nokomis, FL)
I Bid on an ammolite 47??carat won item for $214.00 they refuse to send my item after they told me I won it, after sending numerous emails they first told me that the inventory was oversold, well that could not be as I was the only one bidding on 1 item for sale, that was the only one of it's kind on the website, after telling them I felt I was being hustled by them they told me that they had sent the situation to the proper personnel, when I asked them if I was going to hear from the proper personnel they told me just because it was forwarded to the proper personnel didn't mean I would ever hear from them, and now they are trying to tell me further investigation revealed that my stone had been lost thats why they cancelled my order, oh please it is sounding more and more like they wanted more money for the stone and when the quality control people saw that I won the item for a mere $214 they decided they weren't going to send it to me. When I signed up for the auction I am bound by agreement that I have to pay for what I bid on, I won the item it isn't my problem that the bid did not go high, they said they would give me a 10 percent discount on future purchases, whoopie, I want my stone. This is no way for them to run an honest business, and to tell me that I might not hear back from the proper personnel is really crappy of them. I have been a client of theirs for over 8 years and have bought alot from them, recently alot has been returned because of the quality. even on purchases over 1000.00 have gone back because they are not what they tell you they are. At least shopnbc tells you the quality of the diamonds ie, g/h color si vs clarity, I know someone will tell me shop at shopnbc then, (I do) . But I am standing up for what I feel is right, I won the bid give me the stone...

Not to mention if you shop intelligently and do your research you can save hundreds of dollars on jewelry. I have. JTV is the best.

Diamonds and Show Hosts
Reviewer : Lacie Leibowitz (Houston, TX)
Be very careful buying diamonds from JTV. The 2carat rings for s couple hundred dollars are industrial diamonds at best. Most are blackish gray and frequently cracked or chipped. The occasional diamonds they sell in the SI clarity range are priced accordingly. As for the show hosts, I'm glad to learn I'm not the only one that finds some of them extremely annoying. Misty and Wendy being the worst. Sharon is unbelievably pretentious and seemingly obsessed with being wealthy and unable to do a show without flashing her gaudy diamond ring and gold Rolex. Can't the hosts just present their jewelry and the price without the games. I'm personally tired of the 10 karat gold jewelry or worse, the platinum or 18kt gold over sterling silver. Plated is plated. I have ordered a number of things from JTV and sent 95% of them back. Nice jewelry with beautiful diamonds are available on DSN or the Gem Shopping Network. They aren't inexpensive but the quality is exceptional.

Reviewer : Mactoria (Stockton, CA)
I've been a JTV viewer for about 2 and a half years, and only recently found this website. I've used the coupons to save several times, which I'd found this site sooner! For Ms Chalk who was bothered about JTV's lack of a wide range of castings -- I also have been bothered by this, but I buy a selection of different styles and sizes of pendant, earring, and ring castings through a couple of sites on Ebay (gemsbydeni, liebcor, etc.). Just get into Ebay and use keyword "settings." It would be more convenient if JTV carried a more complete casting array, but through Ebay sellers I have found even some lower prices as well as different types of castings. Re other people's emails: Yes, some of the hosts are tiresome and annoying, but I just lower the sound on the TV or switch the channel, and I have left suggestions for JTV management also which has received a positive response. The emails complaining about hosts' accents are honestly troubling to me; JTV is based in Tennesee, and a southern accent is just one of the many ways people in this big counry speak. And the many writers who have advised that educating yourself before buying are absolutely correct. I've learned the hard way a few times, and decided to get some education on gems to be a better consumer. JTV is an okay company as far as my experience.

Reviewer : Shui Lee (San Jose, CA)
I placed an order for 2 prs of daimond earrings on 11/4 and picked up the pkg on 11/9 at the local post office, I'm disappointed to see that there's only one pr shipped, I called the customer services immediately and was told that a 2nd pr is requested to ship and I should expected to get it within one week. I called today and to my surprise I was told that due to the earring is an expensive item, they're not going to ship me another pr instead a letter will send to me, and this is their policy. I feel that as a customer, I feel lack of protection on the quality service provided by this company, I'm sure they can investigate the qty shipped by their warehouse inventory control system, total weight of the pkg shipped etc. I'm more upset when I awared that the order was inspected by (staff) to ensure quality. Should they have somebody to ensure the accuracy?? Further more, the quality of the pr of daimond earring received is totally unacceptable , the daimonds were dark & cloudy, this is certainy going back. I really love to shop at this network for I really get a good bargain before but I doubt if this experience will stop me from future shopping.

JTV A Travesty!!!
Reviewer : Stacy (Brooklyn, NY)
I've read a lot of your comments with interest. I do buy from TV, and I love jewelry. I also love integrity, honesty and civilized behavior. None of this applies to JTV, and hasn't for the longest time. Inferior merchandise, dishonest, hysterical and greedy hosts (it was confirmed that they work on a commission basis), mediocre customer service and takes way too long to refund (in my case at least.) But the worst thing of all is the phony pricing information they give. I know a lot about jewelry and know when I'm being hyped....but there are many girls and women out there who know nothing about jewelry and are thinking they are getting a $10,000 item for $399!! They are spending the milk money on this junk. Maybe their husbands are deployed and they are lonely. It's nothing short of criminal!! But worst of all is when they invoke the name of God and make it a 'Sunday come to meeting' event. That is despicable. I wrote a scathing email to them a while back. And guess what? I was blocked from sending any other emails..... I've been too lazy, but one of these days I will expose these crooks to the media (they love these stories) and report them to the AG in my state and in Tennessee. They are an embarrassment to the whole industry.

I started watching when I injured my back and was stuck lying down. I have always figured that if it is sold on TV, it is junk. I have made probably 20 purchases and most of the time the quality is great. When the quality was bad, I had no issues returning it. I have had two items appraised and they appraised out for twice what I paid and the jeweler was amazed I got such quality off the TV. The gemstone information they pass on is accurate as well. I had nothing but time to check their info against what I could find on industry websites & found that they were not passing out a bunch of BS. Just because it is on TV doesn't mean it is junk. Get a loupe ($15) so you can examine purchases and be a smart buyer. Search gemstone info on the web and be an informed buyer.

I have my favorites. But quality of the products are not like they use to be

JTV

I like JTV. I don't buy jewelry from them except on rare occasions, despite the fact that my first purchase was a diamond ring for my mom's "diamond" 75th birthday. After that, I've really come to appreciate Nicole, Scott, Tommy, Dawn and Cheryl for their information that I never knew before. Sure! I hate the pricing games, but they're there to make sales, after all. They always, always offer a 30-day inspection period, so no whining on satisfaction. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE GO WAY BEYOND THE ORDINARY EXPECTED 1/2 MILE. Many more times than once, in fact EVERY time EXCEPT once, I've been amazed and pleased that they went 2-1/2 to 3 miles with me. They'll also sit and discuss gems with me if I have questions, they will return phone calls if I have to go high enough to bother, and if an item is returned for replacement, I've more than once ended up with an amazing amends. The jewelry people have a tendency to HOLLER A LOT, so I tend to CHANGE THE CHANNEL a lot while they're on. Besides, I can't stand 10kt gold, and they do have an abundance. But check out their search engine... you may be pleasantly surprised at some of the 14kt and 18kt deals.

I'm pretty new to JTV. Being a New Yorker and with the price of gold skyrocketing, JTV makes is very affordable and there are great deals to be got @ JTV...most of what I ordered I have kept and some of these stones are amazing and I never heard of them until JTV...lesson learned... and it's quality and great prices and the coupons are a plus...I would definitely say try em out...or go to the other shopping networks and spend a fortune.

you get what you pay for

I've made numerous purchases of gem stones and jewelry from JTV over the years. To summarize my experience, I would say get a loupe and carefully inspect everything you get. I have returned ~50% of purchases due to poor quality (e.g. stones not set well, inclusions, cracked/chipped stones etc.). Lately, I've returned ~75% of purchases. Someone is making a lot of $ from shipping and returns. Comparison shop, it's easy to get caught up in the sales hype and "count down" before an item sells out. I've learned alot from the gemstone hosts. There are some hosts that are irritating to watch (Sharon, Tamara, girlfriend Fridays) or don't appear to get along very well (Robert and anyone else). Stop saying you're going to buy or have bought everything you present, IT IS NOT BELIEVABLE! Cut down on the chatter and dramatics, be informative and honest. Teach us something worthwhile instead of the chatter and hype (i.e. how to take care of the jewelry, how to clean jewelry, how to use a loupe properly and what to look for, tell us the grade of the diamonds in the jewelry you're selling etc.)

JTV

I have been a customer of JTV for many years and have spent a lot of money there, some of which I regret. It is very addicting, and they never tell you that you will have a hard time finding a buyer for your gemstones, even if they are worth a lot of money. If you are going to buy gemstones, buy them for fun and to collect them, do not expect to make money with them. They can be used to make jewelry, but remember you have to know how to make jewelry or pay someone else to do it for you. By the time you buy a semi-mount and pay setting charges, you might have been able to get a better deal by buying a finished piece. JTV has both declined in some ways over the years and improved over the years. I was very sad to see all the "Bill me Later" and Preferred Credit Card promotions. They really don't need to encourage people to spend beyond their means in these financial times. Several years ago I used to buy gemstone parcels and I found really amazing gemstones in them. For instance I found a 10x10 mm red fire opal that I had made into a beautiful ring. I also found pink topaz in the quantum cut, tourmalines of all colors and sizes, rubies and emeralds galore and many, many more. I also have tons of common stones that are rattling around in boxes. But the jewelry has really improved over the years. The designs have become more intersting, diverse and "designer". I really love the huge surge in Sterling silver jewelry, much of it spectacular and very affordable. Another contributor on this site talked about buying two of an item to have a choice and that is not bad advice. Quality control is definately a weak spot, and we have a responsibility to be informed consumers. If you are careful and smart, you can have a beautiful wardrobe of jewelry and a lot of fun thanks to JTV. Their white diamonds are another weak spot of the company, and when it says "diamond accents" you can expect to barely see any diamonds and if you do they will probably be included, cloudy, and dull. I am very happy with the current trend of using other white gemstones as subsitutes for diamonds such as Zircon, white Sapphire, white topaz, etc. Zircons really sparkle and white topaz is rarely included. I love most of the hosts, although a couple do drive me crazy. Sometimes I just turn off the sound. I love Cheryl Ellis and Scott because they are informative. I also love Misty, even if she does say the same things week after week. Of the new ones, I really like Avi and Jen. Jen knows all the famous designers and their work, and Aviv is very entertaining. I will continue buying from JTV, but I have so much jewelry now I can wear something different everyday for a month.

I ordered a pearl strand 7-8mm size endless...I GOT a 5-6 MM pearl strand instead. When I wanted to write in a review about this, they would not let me. I tried again, and again my review was never entered. From the above reviews now I know I was not the only one duped!! Buyer BEWARE!!

I do not think I will continue to buy from JTV. I am not sure if the tanzanite comes from Pakistan because it does not have the look of the tanzanite I have seen in shops around the world. The shipping costs are high. This way the company makes money no matter what. I don't like how slow they are to credit.

Jewelry Television

I have bought a few pieces of jewelry from Jewelry Television and have kept about 3/4 of what I ordered. What I want is good gemstones. I order on a regular basis and have for the most part been pleased with what I've received. I began watching JTV about two years ago, I used to really enjoy Cheryl Ells, I learned a great deal from her regarding gemstones. Unfortunately she was canned. They seem to have hired 'talking heads' for the most part, irritating people like Sheree, who repeats everything three times and speaks.... very.... slowly... for... emphasis. She has referred to two CENTIMETER stones when she means to say MILLIMETER. She's an embarrassment. I quit watching the gem shows when she's hosting! They've been running repeats, which is irritating. You go to order a stone you see and it's sold out because it was on a repeat show. And I recently had a really bad experience with having ordered a huge lemon quartz trillion stone at an amazing price, and what do I get in the mail? A horrible set of earrings! They got the order wrong, despite the 'quality assurance' of their checkers, and the earrings were so cheap the supervisor wouldn't allow the rep to send me a return envelope to send them back to them!!! And of course my stone was sold out and I can't get a replacement. I'd found a comparable stone on their website and asked to speak to the supervisor but was told "they can't speak to you, but they will return your call in 24 to 48 hours." Yeah, I'm sitting here, holding my breath for that!!! A lot of times you select an item to read more about it, only to come up with the 'sold out' banner across it. That's infuriating.
