| What is great about the Verizon Voicewing plan is that the long distance is unlimited. This means I can call my daughter in NY at school as many times as I want and the bill will always be the same! She might get annoyed, but it's perfect for all the moms out there. |

| I run my own business from home, and let me tell you, the Verizon VoIP technology has been an absolute godsend. I can make calls to anywhere in the country and it's all covered by my plan. I have fast internet access to boot. Basically, Verizon VoiceWing makes it possible for me to be in business. |

| Voicewing -- Problems |

Verizon has a major problem telling you what you will really be paying. With Sun Rocket when they tell you $199 per year, that is what you pay. With Verizon, there is a bunch of additional fees. In my case, these fees added up to an additional 25% over and above advertised prices. That is not a good way to do business.
Their 100% service guarantee also has many holes. In my case, they held back over 20% of what I paid, even though I had no usage, well under the 10 hour maximum they quote for getting all of you money back.
Local Number Portability is a major problem with Verizon. I signed up for service on July 19. Called back on August 10 to check on progress. They had not even started the process.
What can I say. The Acorn does not fall far from the tree. Verizon is a child of Ma Bell. Remember the old Lily Tomlin skit? Well she would fit right in with today's (August 2006) Verizon.
Go with another provider and save yourself a lot of trouble!!! |
